Stories Tips

What are some stories about the achatina? Memorable achatina stories, wild encounters, and fan fiction.
The beast comes out from its shell, it is a snail, his name is Dexter… he stretches out his eyestalk and releases a poor man from his imprisonment. That man… IS ME
Just a silly little intro thingie since I haven’t spoken on here for the better part of a half a year or so.. just no reason to, all the others talk on the Fandom so.. yea I’ll basically just be here for ToT and to post chapters. (I’d read other stories but I have such little free time to spare.. and I procrastinate a lot.) Break-it! I read your first ToT chapter! You write really well, and I like your characters, only note I have is to add more context after quotes to say who said what, it’s not a big issue especially when just two people are speaking but it does get a bit confusing if it’s three or more, you know what.. it was two people talking maybe you already knew this… ignore me if so 😅 Welcome to the Crossover counsel!

Oh also hello any newcomers I haven’t met.

First of all…
I finished the first arc of TOT. It’s on awesome story and I can’t wait to get into it. But I didn’t realize that Ben had posted three chapters and I only read the final one he wrote(BEN I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WOULD RETIRING FROM TOT… or are you stopping the next arc…?) Second of all SoR is connected to our world so prepare to hear references to random things of books to anime to toys to real life. I’ll be busy tomorrow so lets get ready.
Break-it The Final Witness
SpiritDragon, welcome to Achatina. You can use this to chat with other writers and give news on your story. There’s also the Dododex Fan Fiction Wiki. Just look up “Dododex fan fiction wiki” and there it is!
I’d also suggest reading our stories too.
To Cheesecake: you should read our stories to get ideas for your story.
I ask another writer to make a list of all the stories to help out you two.

Chapter 30 of CON was great! I thoroughly enjoyed the human v human fight and the usage of their abilities throughout, but they're definitely going to make an enemy of KJ and his tribe after this. I think you posted it as Chap 29 tho, so I suggest reposting it w/ the correct title.
Hey all
I submitted next chapter BUT WAIT DONT READ CHAP 30 IF IT DOES NOT HAVE A HEADING THAT SAY
creatures of nightmares
Chapter 30 (hehehe I’m excited)
CAUSE I pressed the submit button then I accidentally swiped up, saw some of the writing was gone, and then it submitted!
I did the switch thing to get more space but it was fine after I did that. My internet has been spotty tho..

Oh yes, by the way, Chapter 55 of TOT is out, so whenever you finish reading it Break-it you can work on 56.
Also, my short story The Arks: Alternative Timeline is finished. Its only 20 chapters long (7 ACTs) amd is a survivor-POV game-style ark story located in Theri. Hope you enjoy!

DiploLover, Chapter 28 of CON was great! That plot twist that the girl human Ripley Jane was a wolf of Ridley’s past was a fun plot twist. The plot twists of CON are really killin’ me here. I’m wondering what made Ridley turn his back on Jane for Adira. Was it manipulation? Or his own will? Ridley is certainly messed up either way, despite his redemption. I also liked the POV of the wolves on Carnivore Island, and I’m wondering how Jane turned into a human, traveled to the Crystal Isles, and why she came back. It seems she’s been used to being a human this whole time. Maybe they’re not the same, and they just have the same name. Anyway CON has been great so far and 29 will be just as awesome.

DiploLover, Chapter 27 of CON was great! The wolves really did fool the humans. Also it seems that the Yutys are being blackmailed into getting rid of the rest of the wolves. I’m interested to see how this will play out with the rest of the humans and what not. I’ll be around for 28.
Break-it, most of us use Google Docs or just a different app like Notes / Pages or Microsoft Word to write our stories, and then we copy paste it onto the DDEX. So while there isn’t a function on the DDEX itself it’s still the easiest solution. Also, read Chapter 22 and Alfred de Cardo seems like a really cool and formidable villain so far. I’m assuming that this is the villain that will be used for TOT. Anyway, it was cool and I’m glad you’re getting back into SOR.
RelatingHen, Chapters 22 - 24 were pretty good. One thing I’ve noticed though is that Nudon are gonna send in their Gigas to help kill the Titanosaur, which is a fine strategy, but I’ve noticed that Thylas are actually much more effective since they do percentage-based damage. If Sodden gets the final hit in on the Titanosaur though with an explorer note boost, broth of enlightenment, and toilet boost he could probably level up by quite a bit. NeddyTheNoodle used this strategy to speed level on his playthrough of ASE. Anyway I liked the callback to the second chapter of the story near the end of 23, it was pretty cool. Also liked the fight between the Gigas and the Alpha Rex. I’m assuming now that Chapter 25a will be the Titanosaur Showdown, and the rest of the parts will be just the boss battles. One thing that could use some clarity though (and I’ve just realized) are Nudon’s tribemates besides Denine and Red. We know those two are the main people, but there are also others as well. The tribemates don’t have to be major characters, but knowing how many of them there are and who they are could also help add more character interaction and depth, since it feels like there are only 2 people in the Nudon tribe. Not sure about Rod’s tribe, but that could help with his too. I’d suggest doing the same for C Tribe and Nameless too because we only know that Terad and Serenity are members. Anyway, I’ll be around for 25.

Well, Relating, Chapter 100 is the only chapter thats reached the limit, which is why its even split up into parts to begin with (it was around 30k words long yikes), though those chapters are indeed just as long. I typically refrain from splitting them into parts for easier reading accessibility. You may have noticed some of TAOH has chapters with A and B, but this was only because i was too lazy to put it all in one or i felt like i didnt want it to cover 2 chapters. Also glad to see another TOT reader, though I wouldnt recommend reading it until you’ve read some of the stories involved in the crossover. I’ll update the TOT page in the Wiki to include it soon.
Also, Chapter 21 of JTAC was great! I thoroughly enjoyed it and the personification of Reaper was nice. I enjoy personified creatures in human POV stories because it adds some spark to the human cast and gives it a bit more variety. I do think the fight between Cordor and the others was a bit underwhelming for a “Showdown” but its no biggie. Just remember to keep that in mind for the finale of Section II. Something that would keep you on the edge of your seat is most likely to keep readers as well. Whether it be something heart-breaking, intense, high-stakes, or gut-wrenching. Also, the continuity error of Cordor being able to go around doing stuff even though he should be low level is noticeable, but can be explained in a future chapter. Other then that, good chapter, i’ll be around for 22.
As for the 7 likes on the chapters, I can confirm there are definitely more than 7 of us. Not all of us are super active here as they were, most are active on the Fandom Wiki. Don’t worry about it too much.
To Ben,
Thanks for your feedback! I’ve gotten started on reading ToT and now I’m hoping that Chapter 54 comes out very soon. Also, yeah, if JTAC happened in real Ark it’d be on a PvX server since the tribes fight each other to ascend so it makes sense they’d go for a Titan.
Also, word limits… bro, Chapter 91b of TAOH and Chapter 40 of ToT were 39 and 38 minutes long!! That’s longer than just one part of the chapter 100. Okay I guess no one would make a chapter like that… unless they, for some reason, really wanted to. Okay just curious: what’s the true word limit on Dododex tips when making a story?
Ok, whatever that’s all for now.
