The achatina is a small snail, carryable by hand, that can be useful if you are missing a small amount of cementing paste, and can’t be bothered to go and get the supplies to craft more. It poops and passively generates achatina paste, which is identical functionally and visually to cementing paste. It can hold up to 100 at a time.

Tip for new players: The Early Game category says this is a Early Game creature, its Encountering wise, not taming, its near the beach swamps and non aggressive, but it needs to be knocked out and it needs to be quick as to slow and it curls up in its shell, it eats sweet vegetable cake that is hard to get requireing giant bee honey wich is a late/mid game item requireing ghille and high level health and speed, ghille needs organic poly, and its a hard to get item. Unless you kill snails. So in summary its not a Early Game tame, its a Early Game encounter.

While taming, after eating a cake, the bar will read "place food in inventory to tame" even though you have cakes there. Also, the torpor score goes up quickly from feeding narcs, different from other tames

I repeat........They don't eat food inside the cave in mobile.

You don't need to tame to get paste, just pick up with pteranodon and drop in small pen, then come back every once in a while to find achatina paste, no veggie cakes needed.

You can find achatina in and around the swamp, also in redwoods if you want to be jumped by a thylacoleo

If you tame 3-5 achatina, you probably never making polymer and cementing paste again.

NOT TRUE that you can use a grappling hook on snails on PVE servers. I tried.

You can just kidnap a few and they’ll drop paste on the ground which you can then pickup without having to tame them.

True story. We tamed 6 achitnas for cementing paste and polymer farming. Their pen is near our ovirapter who is weighted down and set on wander. These snails reproduced. We returned from an adventure and found 6 mini me's! We separated the achitnas into pens divided with wooden rails and they still reproduced. Not one was set to "enable mating". We finally spayed all of them to get them to stop! If you want organic polymer (store on the achitnas) and cementing paste you will have more than enough in no time. Spare the baby penguins!

The Achatina will passively produce cement paste as it wanders. It also produces organic compound but only once every hour or so. It can be placed in a wooden cage and still produce past and compound.

Only upgrade food so when you fill them up you won’t have to feed them again for a long time.

Just so you know...they also extend the preservation timer for organic polymer if you want to store large amounts.

I don’t understand why people say tapejara can carry more thing than pteranodon. Tapejara can’t even carry achatina but Pteranodon can so if you wanna carry a snail with a early flyer tame a pteranodon not tapejara.

TIPP: Achatinas can produce organic Polymer. You can just craft a fridge with the organic Polymer and destroy it. Every time you destroy a fridge you get normal Polymer back. That means you can transform organic Polymer to normal Polymer. I found it out yesterday by myself.

Put them in a wooden cage, and Enable wandering. You can still access the inventory if the snail without opening the cage.

When taming an achatina try to get them in a safe place. Once that's done you should shoot it in the head with tranq darts/arrows as the shell does less torpor. Then feed it sweet vegetable cakes and BOOM your very own achatina!
