Megas, Chapter 2
Alexander wanted to liberate Greek city states in Persia, but he had little success as some liked living in Persia. He needed a victory, Macedon’s economy was destroying itself. Persian Satraps were discussing how to deal with Alexander, Memnon of Rhodes, a Greek, knew that a scorched earth strategy could kill the campaign early, but the Satraps decided to attack Alexander.
By the Granicus the Persians and Macedonians stood off, the banks were muddy, which would mess up Macedon’s army with the slight advantage the Macedonians. Memnon’s mercenaries would help, but they hoped the cavalry could make infantry a problem they could ignore. Alexander decided to cross the river.
Alexander took the right flank, a man named Parmenion took the left
Arrows flew from Persian bows, but the Macedonian cavalry was very helpful, they fought in all directions. Alexander’s Trojan shield took hits and his armor attracted attention. Things were very crazy, Alexander caught a spear thrown at him with a shield, then went off to attack the man who threw it, the man was knocked off his horse after a brief tussle, another Persian attacked and cut into Alexander’s scalp through his helmet, he killed the attack, a third Persian came by, Alexander’s bodyguard, Cleitus the Black, saved him. The Macedonians still were crossing the river, they pushed the Persian Cavalry back, soon they fought Greek mercenaries and Persians, Alexander’s near death experiences continued, but the outcome was easy to see, Macedon won. All the mercenaries were dead or captured, 2500 Persian cavalry were killed, Macedonian losses were even less, 150 perhaps. But not much money, Macedon needed money, he enslaved the mercenaries and sent them to the mines, but this wasn’t popular, he was trying to liberate Greeks after all. The Battle bought Alexander time, he needed a big city though, the west was undefended, Persia was open, Darius III ordered an army to assemble to meat Alexander personally.

Megas, Chapter 1
Philip II of Macedon was dead. Killed by an Ex-Lover no less.
His son, who had proved himself at the battle of Chaeronea, Alexandros Argead, known today as Alexander the Great in English and Alexandros Megas in Greek, succeeded the throne, becoming Alexander III of Macedon.
Now, Philip had turned Macedon from an obscure kingdom looked down on by Greeks to the most powerful kingdom in Greece, only Sparta had avoided the League of Corinth solely because they were weak and irrelevant, the purpose of the league was for the Macedonians to have the manpower of Greece for the upcoming campaign into the Achaemenid Persian Empire. Alexander realized he needed to move quickly, he moved into Asia via his crossing of the Hellespont.
This one was to provide context

Sic Semper Tyrannis part V
???:Oh my god Caesar you’re ok!
Caesar:Calpurnia (one of his wives) what happened?!
Calpurnia:Well, I dreamed the roof of our house fell and I had your mangled corpse in my arms. It was bad.
Caesar:Well, let’s just go start doing stuff. By the way, I feel not well, sluggish.
Calpurnia:It might not be much.
Caesar:Ok, I’ve got some minor religious ceremony to deal with.
Calpurnia:Ok, see you later
The priest, Spurinna, was in the crowd at this ceremony. And Caesar jokingly called out:Spurinna! The Ides have come!
Spurinna:They have, but they have not yet gone.
After Caesar went home he said he still felt sluggish
Calpurnia:Rest and Recover
Caesar:Ok, I’ll go tell Antony to call off the meeting.
Antony:Hey guys, we aren’t meeting today.
Decimus:Sh*t!
Cassius:I dunno, maybe we could get him in the way to Dacia?
Decimus:No you idiot I have a better idea.
Decimus went to Caesar’s house.
Caesar:Hello Decimus, how’s it going?
Decimus:Just wanted to tell you that you shouldn’t call off the meeting, see, there is a bill (not real it was a trick by Decimus) that will allow you to use the title King outside of Italy, those people are little more than barbarians after all. But it isn’t universally supported, if you offend the senators cancelling meetings because of bad dreams, the bill might not pass.
Caesar:Uhhhh. Ok I’m coming.
Antony! Meeting’s back on!
Decimus breathed a sigh of relief as Caesar to walked to his grave
Though Decimus’s gladiators couldn’t come with them they loitered around their weapons claiming to be there to make an arrest because a gladiator violated a contract.
Due to Caesar being late many senators stood around chatting waiting for Caesar.
Cassius pulled Decimus and Casca aside. But some no name senator, Laenas, yelled :CASCA, Brutus told me your little secret! How dare you keep me in the dark like this! I hear you’re running for aedile, when did that happen.
Laenas was stopped from making a scene by another senator outside the conspiracy who pulled Cassius and Decimus aside, he said:I hope that you accomplish your task, please, do not delay, people know, and they are talking. Then Loudmouth Laenas made a big show of whisper in Caesar’s ear. It was nothing and everyone came inside. Trebonius pulled Antony aside on cue.
While Lucius Cimber, a conspirator distracted Caesar others formed a perimeter around him
Cimber:Caesar, may you please pardon my brother? An ex Pompeian?
Caesar:Your brother shows no remorse so, no.
Suddenly Cimber grabbed Caesar by the shoulder and pulled down his toga, exposing his shoulder, signaling everyone to start the killing. Casca, behind Caesar stabbed down as hard as he could but missed.
Caesar:Casca! What are you doing!? This is violence! (They we’re childhood friends)
They grappled a bit but then
Casca (in Greek):Brother help me!
Titedius came forward and everyone was running about.
Caesar saw Cassius who slashed him into the face. Titedius stabbed him in the ribs. Decimus gave a wound to the thigh, Cassius attacked again but in all the shoving it got to Brutus instead.
Caesar fell and Brutus, hand stained with blood, pulled out a dagger.
Caesar (in Greek):You too, my son?
He stabbed Caesar between the legs.
Caesar pulled his yoga up to preserve his last shred of dignity and died. Ironically, Caesar died under a statue of his rival, Pompey.

Megas, Chapter 4
The Phoenician city of Tyre wanted to stay neutral, however, Alexander would have other plans for them, when Alexander’s initial bridge was destroyed, he built another one, wider, with siege engines, he launched ships that had siege engines on them.Tyre responded with large stones in the water to block his ships, so Alexander responded with ships that had cranes in them to pull the rocks out. 8 months later and Tyre lost, Alexander was enraged, he usually avoided pillaging and rape, but now, infuriated, he killed 10000 men and enslaved 30000 other people, he soon swiftly conquered Egypt, Egypt preferred Macedonian rule due to the killing of the sacred bull by the second Persian King Cambyses. Alexander would continue to ravage the Persian west, where he encountered Darius at Gaugamela…

Megas, Chapter 3
After his stunning victory at the Granicus Alexander had drawn the personal attention of the Persian King Darius III, Darius was at the head of an army, he brought his wife and children, sure of his victory against Alexander. Now, Alexander went south, into the Levant but Darius got him on the North, so he had caught Alexander in the rear. The Greek cavalry however very quickly routed the Persian army. And Darius had been so sure of his victory he brought his family, so now his wife and children had been taken by the Macedonian Army.
Darius sent a letter asking for an alliance between the two and for his family back, Alexander replied, with his letter ending as such “In the future, whenever you communicate with me, send to me as the King of Asia — do not write to me as an equal.”
Darius tried again, 10000 Drachmae for his family, everything west of the Euphrates in the Persian Empire, which was Egypt, Israel, Syria, Lebanon and much of Turkey, Alexander's general Parmenion said "If I were Alexander, I would take that offer" Alexander said that if he were Parmenion, he would too.
