Megas, Chapter 1

Philip II of Macedon was dead. Killed by an Ex-Lover no less.

His son, who had proved himself at the battle of Chaeronea, Alexandros Argead, known today as Alexander the Great in English and Alexandros Megas in Greek, succeeded the throne, becoming Alexander III of Macedon.

Now, Philip had turned Macedon from an obscure kingdom looked down on by Greeks to the most powerful kingdom in Greece, only Sparta had avoided the League of Corinth solely because they were weak and irrelevant, the purpose of the league was for the Macedonians to have the manpower of Greece for the upcoming campaign into the Achaemenid Persian Empire. Alexander realized he needed to move quickly, he moved into Asia via his crossing of the Hellespont.
