The yutyrannus meaning “Feathered tyrant” is truly a force to be reckoned with. By itself it’s incredibly dangerous that’s obvious. Also the yutyrannus always spawns in with a escort of carnos that fight along side it.

So with all of that in mind, how the heck do you tame one!?

Well there is no easy way. The yutyrannus is very difficult to separate from its escort of carnos, you either have to manage to kill its escort of buffed carnos (buffed with courage), or with incredible luck, separate the yutyrannus from its carnos. (Additional warning: the carnos buffed by the yutyrannus usually target the creature the yuty targets.) thankfully Ark usually has a 3rd option. Grab your friendly neighborhood harpoon gun, and make some nets (not cast nets). And introduce the yutyrannus to your net launcher! Make sure it’s carno friends aren’t left out. When you net them, do whatever you want I usually kill them because they get up eventually. Once you net the yuty immediately knock it unconscious. Once they break free from the net there’s a cooldown preventing you from netting it again for a bit.

Once you knock it out it likes prime or extraordinary kibble. Make sure you have narcotics or biotoxin. Eventually you will have your yuty

I use wyverns to tame these, as wyverns are not affected by the scare roar thing. Just find a place it can’t climb to get you, then just tranq it. Once it runs get on your wyvern and chase it, then corner it and knock him out. Not the most safe way but it works.

Yutyrannus are an amazing Dino for boss fights

They are decently strong, but mainly they can be used to buff your creatures during the fight. Paired with 18 mutated and levelled rexes and a daedon to heal them constantly, you will destroy any boss. Yutyrannus also have the ability to fear roar any dinosaurs smaller than itself. Fear roaring a Dino means they become out of control and run or fly away from the Yutyrannus. This is very useful as small creatures can sometimes be annoying and get you stuck in small places. Yutyrannus also have the ability to ally with wild carbos for a certain amount of time, making carnos useful for once.

All the above statements are for tamed Yutyrannus.

Use a rex to kill carnos and lead it into your trap since they are not affected by Yuty roar, then cryopod the rex and tame the Yuty.

If you have a boss army and are looking for a yuty to boost it you don’t need to worry about level just make sure you are riding it and staying away from the actual fighting

Easy tame method:Make 2 by 2 trap stone with doorframe as walls and 4 ramps on one side then take a wyvern and run in front of yuty he/she will follow you then lead them to trap

I just use the large bear trap method

Depending on your level and Materials you have. large bear traps are pretty cheap to craft. Craft five or more depending on how comfortable you feel.

And use any method of tranquilizing you like.

Tip: when your timing something it never hurts to go a little bit above of what you need in materials.

1. Find the fluffy t Rex. When you find one make sure you’re pretty close but not too close for it to notice you.

2. Place down all the bear traps in a line.

3. Once all your Bear traps have opened. Try to get the attention of the fluffy t Rex. Just shoot it once or go up to it (if you’re brave enough). Once you have its attention run to the first beer trap in the row of bear traps you’ve place down.

4. Once it’s caught in the bear trap you wanna run to the last bear trap in the row. You Want to have the bear traps between you and the fluffy t Rex. And that way you can start shooting it. and as it breaks each bear trap and try’s to come toward you it steps on another Bear trap getting it’s self stuck.

And depending on what tranquilize method you use you probably won’t have to worry too much about it running away but they’re pretty slow. I use this method for almost every dinosaur I tame that can fit in a large bear trap.

This thing got the same base stats of the rex, it's just a smaller and fluffy rex that has a buff roar and a debuff roar, you can literally skip the rex unless you want the tek rex or the tek saddle but you'll have to do boss fights for the tek saddle, but I still think the Yuti is better unless you put him against a tek rex, anyways you can just try to skip the rex and tame this also because it's a big fluff alpha dodo

Bring it with a dimorphodon army and buff them .

You can also buff ally's dino too !!!

A very garbage idea would be to make the yuty roar buff buff another yuty's roar buff

I learned that although it is hard to catch up to a running Yuti, the hardest part is having the patience to watch it eat… my level 45 is taking forever to tame.

Go to the snow mountains with a high lvl arg. Or w/e flyer, park your ass when you see a group kill or k/o carnos if a mammoth is near by helps to ko him as they will go after his downed body, while they think they eatin shoot em up with as many tranqs as needed, all the hustle to try and trap him nah…

These things are incredibly useful. When taming, however, they have one fatal flaw: They're morons. They will run around and attack EVERYTHING regardless of how damaged they are or how strong the opponent. They also fancy themselves to be great swimmers. Flying around the tundra you will see many swimming around until they meet their untimely doom. Please tame as many as you can to help save them from their own stupidity.

It can also temporarily have wild carntosaurus's fight with it so remember war cry a carntosaurus with a tamed yuturannus

STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THINGS NOT ON MOBILE! YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR THE GAME! It all balances out in the end

My life sucks in ark. I'm in the island near tve snow area and I see three of the yuty. I quickly ran away and started reading about them. Thanks comments because I was about to blindly run at them and attack.
