Tips & Strategies

What are tips for yi ling? Tips and strategies for yi ling in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Pretty easy to tame but can be annoying. To make your life easier, make a basic trap, (2x2 foundation, two walls high doorways), get armor on(regular flak will work) get them aggro'd on you and let them shoot 30 feathers at you, when you hit 30 run into the trap and you'll see red lines behind their wings. this is how you know they're going to dive bomb! they USUALLY circle you 2-3 times before dive bombing you and they'll do a spin in the air right before the do. Once theyre about to hit the ground, throw a flashbang(species z fruit) and run up to them and feed them bio toxin(you can get it from jellyfish and the mushrooms that make you hallucinate). Repeat a couple of times until they knock out, then feed them! for a level 100 it took around 5-6 species z and biotoxin, a lvl 50 took 3 so you can base it around that.
Tamed high levels on official with prim flak and no shield, you don’t need high dura flak for this
So basically the same as what everyone has put with the trap, but use 4x stone foundations and 24x stone Biotin.
Stand out in the open close to your trap and wait until the feather buff stacks up to 30 and then run inside your trap; the
Yi-Lings glide trail behind it will turn bright red and it will strike at the wall, getting stuck for a few seconds in the process. Throw your plant species z seed at it and then run up to it and feed it Narcotics/Biotoxin.
Yes, the 2x2 with 16 double door frames works! But heres how to easily proceeds:
1 - Stack 30 feathers outside the trap
2 - Runs to incidente the trap, go to the middle of it and get down (not completly, just the "sit")
3 - Keep the eye on Yi's wings, they will glow in red at some point, that means it is ready for the special atack
4 - Yi will fly agressivly towards you, but will be blocked by the fence, bomb it in this moment with Y seed (not the wil one, the crop) and feed it with the toxin.
5 - LEAVE the trap and be arround the Dino until it flies again. Repeat maintaining the 30 or more feathers status.

It’s not out yet but soon we’ll have aberration on Asa and with blimps I think it would be the last thing you want on a blimp or in early game
This thing will glide like a drake but use stam to give it a boost to flap and glide for longer. Its feathers can be fired and can be coated with different things that apply certain effects on top of the damage they do. They will be found in the green zone in Ab, because thats where the majority of it's prey creatures are. A lvl 150s hp will range between 2-3k. They will not use saddles, and will instead hold you somewhat like a bloodstalker, which means its important to lvl up hp to combat its lack of armour.
The breeding thing for yilings is wrong. It's 58 min incubation.
Here’s a tip I’ve found taming them. If you let your feather count get too high it will eventually stop diving at you. So be sure to keep your feather count as close to 30 as possible to avoid a lot of wasted time.
I just spent the last 3 hours trying to tame this thing, and after taming it, it's really not worth it.
The feathers are cool and all, but they're only usable on big slow targets, mine was a 135 base tame, and it's damage is around 1,200 damage with a full rupture, but it takes so long to do that it can't really kill anything. Making it really difficult to level.
Maybe after some decent leveling it'll be better than the dire bears I've got, but for now it's pretty much just a trophy creature.
You can find a yi ling in the green zone, once you do have plant species z fruit and narcotics. Then tank 40 feathers and once it dive bombs to you throw the fruit ( gotta time it ) feed it a narcotic, rinse and repeat this process and boom. You have a yi ling
There’s a relative lack of animal life near the blue zone entrance at 33.6 Lon 61.4 lat. Use a karkinos to grab the wild one you want (if you’re at that stage) and kill everything in the area. Yi Lings have severe ADHD and will attack ANYTHING with a pulse even if it’s far away from you. Build a circular foundation using 6 triangle foundations and stack 2-high doorways around the circle to make a trap. Stand in the trap when it divebombs you, which will lead to it getting stuck in the doorway for an easy stun. Bring 3 sets of flak and some medbrews, and at least 20 biotoxin for high levels. If you can, have a tribemate constantly going around killing wild dinos to prevent the yi lings ADHD from triggering! (I’ve done this solo so it’s perfectly doable)
Did you guys here that when aberration comes it will bring the mauvia eureka's little cousin, the Cosmo for the Bob's tall tales .
People who complain about the difficult taming should consider moving on to more appropriate games such as wordle or bingo
Change the way that this bird is tamed now!!!
The devs changed the Yi Qi to the Yi ling because they didn’t think the Yi Qi would fit aberration, well that’s what I heard. If you look on arks website survivetheark you can see that it’s not called the Yi Qi but called the Yi ling. just wanted to say about this for people who didn’t know about the change.
To keep your mind sane just use a simple trap:
1 Pillar, 4 ceilings, 16 doorframe and 1 ramp
Place pillar and build the rest in a square on top and the ramp on the side, then repeat the below steps inside trap.
Just stay at 30+ feathers, wait for dive throw species z fruit, feed narcotics(or biotoxin), step out let it bite you, when it goes up use the ramp to reenter the trap and repeat, enjoy your chicken
Sometimes you just gotta abandon trying to get a specific one because the AI will trip out and you'll have 30+ stacks and it won't dive you even outside the 2x2 trap. It will either jump in the air but not attack or run around in circles until you lose aggro. I lost two hours trying to get my first one and it only dove about 4 times in that entire attempt. I've run into broken ones like this every now and again but for the most part they will act as they should. I was using the same trap for every instance so I'm assuming it might be the individual AI.
