If you’re starting out and really want one, get on Scorched Earth and steal a wyvern egg there. It’s the easiest trench in my opinion :)

The only flying creature with the capability to strike fear into the hearts of survivors. The wyvern. Not to be mistaken for a dragon, as wyvern means 2 legged dragon. Anyways, how to tame one? Well you can’t tame a wild one, but they do lay eggs. These eggs are laid in wyvern nests. These nests are extremely dangerous. However these nests contain wyvern eggs, that once acquired, you will then be able to hatch and tame your baby wyvern.

How to steal an egg: Get a fast tame flying tame, I suggest a high level Pteranodon. As wyverns are fast. But don’t linger for long as wyverns can kill you very easily. If you take a egg they will all come after you. After grabbing the egg all you need to do is fly in a straight line away from the wyvern nest. Keep going until the wyverns chasing you exit rendering distance.

There are multiple diffrent wyverns:

Fire wyvern

Lightning wyvern

Poison wyvern

Ice wyvern

These guys are in lost island, scorched earth, fjordur, Valguero, and ragnorak.

There’s also crystal wyverns:

Blood crystal wyvern

Ember crystal wyvern

Tropical crystal wyvern

These are on crystal isles. Passive tame ones are found in their respective biome. But there’s also a nest whitch contains blood and ember wyvern eggs. These are heavily guarded by crystal wyvern heirs.

And the one wyvern on extinction:

Forest wyvern

These guys only spawn while fighting the forest titan, they can temporarily be tamed while the forest titan is alive. They all die immediately after the forest titan is defeated.

Wyverns are an excellent tame all around. And a must have on pvp, and pve alike. Each wyvern has a diffrent breath attack respective to their names. Thx for reading!

On fjdour there are many different locations for eggs. Fire on the lava island, another In valguero like hills in a cave. Poison ones are behind a waterfall on vanaheim. Ice under a large skeleton in Jotunheim and lightning on asgard under a large ribcage. Take gas mask for poison

I have about 10 wyvern eggs, but I’m a little to scared to knock out a female wyvern for the milk. I’ve seen so many videos of people getting killed and there pets to. So if someone has a good plan pls let me know

Wyvern Milk is easy with a trap just may be a bit difficult to find a female. But to make it worth the tame just get 6 or more arges and kill the wyverns to locate the eggs you want that way you can raise two or more high level and just get more eggs at home. Pteranodons can hardly out run them.

If you play on public PvP then you already know how hard it is to raise a wyvren. If you plan on getting one I suggest doing this, KEEP ON THE MOVE! If you play on rag then you can make a raft base so you can keep relocating so people trying to Raid you would have to keep up. If you main in other maps, it’s best to make a base there for one or two days then move to another server, you are guaranteed to raise it for a good while, all depends on your location. The point is that you don’t wanna stay in the same spot or same server if you have beef on it with someone.

Get a griffin .... tank it up in health and stamina , find one of these wyverns , get’em to follow u to somewhere where it’s safe when they fall unconscious , keep flying around it in circles , just like the griffin it’s area of effect is quite shit when going round in circles , might set u on fire a few times (if it’s a fire wyvern ... otherwise u know , other things) .... but yeah do that and at some point , u’re good to go

The number of Tranq darts on dododex is not accurate so just keep doing it without counting

There’s a lot of things wyverns are useful for, each wyvern can have its own use so in the tip I’m gonna attempt to explain most the uses wyverns have in 5 categories, all wyverns and then the 4 wyvern types.

Please note I’ve play 5 minutes total of pvp so this guide is more focused on pve

All wyverns

- carrying, every wyvern can carry small - medium sized creatures, making them not bad transport tames for medium sized creatures, they can hold up to an Allo in size

- damage, im going to get into this more with the individual wyvern types but every wyvern generally does pretty good bite damage

- travel mounts, wyverns are fast fliers, awful turn radius but they fly fast and are good for traveling across the map and on maps like scorched earth they’re your best bet for traveling across the map.

- metal running, argys are better at this but wyverns can be faster, they don’t have high weight but it’s decent and you can level up weight to get a pretty good metal running creature.

- kibble, wyvern eggs give kibble meaning you can start a breeding line or you can raid an entire trench, either way you’ll have eggs for extraordinary kibble

- meat running, wyverns are fast, high damaging, mid game creatures, meaning they’re good for meat runs, you can pile up a lot of meat by going on a murder spree with a wyvern

-thatch collecting, a wyverns wing flap ability is good at knock back and collecting thatch from trees, and a little wood, you can get a lot of charcoal from certain trees as well.

That’s the general use for wyverns in pve at least, now the next 4 categories are going to be a lot shorter because wyverns aren’t very different except for different elemental breath and a slightly different model

Fire wyverns

- fire breathing, you can set stuff on fire with this wyvern which does a lot of damage and even more percent based damage, I don’t have much else to say

Poison wyverns

-ranged attacking, poison wyverns shoot a toxic ball that does high dps and damages the player on a mount in pvp, the ranged attack is useful for killing from a range and avoiding taking damage

Lightning wyverns

-highly deadly lightning breath, the lighting wyverns breath has the highest damage of any wyvern, it’s typically the best wyvern for combat because of the damage it’s breath inflicts.

Ice wyverns

- slowdown effect, ice wyverns are considered to be the weak link of the 4 wyverns, they’re still good, after all it is still a 2 legged dragon, the ice breath does low damage but has a slowdown effect, which is nice to get out of a pinch.

And that’s the use for wyverns, I think I got everything for pve but there’s probably more I missed, that’s all from me

Griffin + whip = eggs

Use griffins to steal their eggs. Or go to crystal isles and passive tame a tropical wyvern then use that to steal eggs.

This tip will be for... ice wyverns because not that much people know where there eggs are. Here’s how to tame one

1.go to ragnarok

2.get a normal high leval wyvern

3.go to the ice biom by wyvern caves

4.look for and kill any ice wyvern you see after you have jollies a egg will be nearby

Fire is best but lightning is better if u got good aim! Fire my fave it just looks insane and is best!

If your wyvern gets stuck in the ground cryopod it or knock it out with narcotics

If you don't want to be followed all the way across the map just set up a bunch of turrets

Only bother with 175+ if you’re gonna get a wyvern go big or there’s no point

Can someone please tell me how long it takes for a Wyvern to fully mature on ‘single player’ settings, I’m relatively new to the game and I just want to know if I need to worry about milk or healers such as Daeodons or snow owls. I know they can last a little over 3 hours without food but I’m not sure if that is enough to grow them. As I said before I am playing on 5x single player settings.

So guys, when you get on scorched, about how long does it take for the eggs to start spawning? I keep checking but there’s nothing there😕

If you want a early game wyvern for god now’s what reason on fjorder or lost island just get a maewing (you can use sinomacrops to follow it)and zoom in there and get a egg. Got a 160 ice wyvern egg but I don’t know what temperature or how many torches they take:(

If you do plan an raising wyverns without milk all you need is a snow owl and stimulants to keep it awake just keep in mind that torpor only rises if you are in render distance but health will decrease as normal
