Tips & Strategies

What are tips for tidepup? Tips and strategies for tidepup in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
if you use a syringe and drain your health to 10% or lower(without dying ofc lol), the pup will try to heal u aswell entering the state in which u can feed it
Rare flowers activate their debuff ability which also counts towards their evolution progress. You can alternate between standing on a campfire and eating rare flowers to evolve them. The wifi symbol on the right is the bebuff cool down and the numbers that show up at the bottom show you the health buffer threshold for the health regen ability. So if you set the threshold to 50 you'll need to take 50 damage to activate the ability. But you'll need to take the damage quickly to reach the threshold. The actual amount of health you have doesn't matter. Once the ability activates the numbers at the bottom will change colors and start to countdown before you can activate the ability again. The number of times you need to activate one of the abilities to get a growth surge seems to change as you progress
easiest way to tame a Tidepup is just to bring a small dino that you can safely injure a little, walk it over to the Tidepup, and let the little guy heal it. Every time it finishes healing your dino, you get a chunk of taming progress. Then you just wait for the Tidepup to chill for a bit, hurt your dino again (not too much), and repeat the process. It’s super low‑stress since the Tidepup doesn’t get aggressive or anything, so you can take your time and just cycle the heal → rest → heal loop until it’s yours.
you will NOT ko him if you try to I will hunt your base down and destroy it you just gotta heal your tames from this dude
Youn need to take your dino and injure it down to less than 10% health then ride it up to tidepup and it will do a green heal affect and sleep while sleeping feed it raw meat or kibble soon as ur done u can dmg your dino down to 10% of its health again and just keep repeating the process just make sure u dont hot the tidepup by accident bc it will follow your character while ur injuring your dino if u do it will lose taming and if you stab a second tidepup to get it to go away the one ur trying to tame will run to but just give it a minute then go up to it again it wont loose and taming if you dont take to long
If you wanna find some quick, just use the NW spawn for ocean biome. Head SE after you teleport. You'll find plenty in and around the cove there.
It prefers the regular kibble from my experience to help tame
Update on my elusive comment they are in fact NOT rare I found like 20 in my first 5 minutes
Use a syringe (Lv6. 10Hide 1Chitin/Keratin) to lower your health to around 10-15 (each syringe use takes 25 HP and has 5 sec cooldown timer) and these lil tidepod dudes will run up and heal your broken bob butt. After they've healed you, they will take a nap. Once asleep, use the last tab on your hotbar to feed them (kibble is best, but mutton and prime work excellent too). Then BAM, you've got a healer.
To level up there evolution you can pick them up and stand on a fire or use the syringe to keep health low. The more they heal, the more they evolve. You can keep them as a shoulder pet or evolve to a full size saddle rider.
It’s a water puppy come on just tame it
You can also hurt yourself with something like a campfire to tame it instead of using a tame.
apparently you tame it by letting it heal your tames?
This guy prefers blue kibble(regular) to help tame :)
I’m pretty sure you have to use a Dino that is super low, other tips have just said to hit your dino a little bit. Use something easy like dodo or lystro and get it to about 10% health and the tidepup will heal it and lay down. You feed the pup meat
Keep yourself dehydrated, have a bunch of stimberries on hand to stop your rising torpor, and you can easily keep yourself at a low enough health to feed them without being risky
(You have to be at 10% or less for them to heal you and then you can feed them)
These guys bout to be the most elusive things on this map
