Absolutely brilliant and really useful. Would definitely recommend taming one of these. They have great attack damage, health is also great and they are soooo useful for getting around the island (really fast and really fun to ride)

they're pretty decent swimmers considering they don't look like they're made for swimming At All lmao

These guys are really good cave runners because of health stamina and damage, it can also climbe and if look down when your on a tree you can pounce on something like moose (quick tip for mobile players like me you need to press and hold the jump button to climb) also forgot to mention it can also travel far with the pounce ability, it can also grab wild flyers to just to let yall know. (:

Thylas make amazing combat/travel mounts.

They have the stats of a spino which is ridiculous for a creature of this size, and then on top of that, they have many amazing traits which I keep discovering.

To name a few:

-They can run pretty fast.

-They can jump really high and grab onto vertical surfaces and then move up or down on that surface.

-They can do a special attack from vertical surfaces, which in order to perform you have to first move the cursor downwards toward ground and then press the atk button , which they jump unto small and medium creatures , pinning them to the ground for about 8 seconds or so, all the while you can attack them but they can't. Amazing against flyers and stuff.

-They can do their attack while sprinting and jumping.

-they can instantly turn around 180° to attack those creatures that attack you from behind. Which you can't turn around to attack them on many other mounts. To do this 180 spin, press jump while looking towards the back of your mount.

-They can control their jump, press back or forward to control where you fall.

-They can and prefer eating cooked meat , which eating them makes thylas heal much faster than raw meat or berries that normal tames can eat.

-their attack also does bleeding damage which piercers armor and depletes around 5% of the bitten creatures health over 5 seconds. Ranking their damage dealing capabilities off the charts.

-their main attack has good range. Making you able to attack creatures outside of their damage dealing range. For example you could attack from on top of a rock while raptors and such keep looking at you.

-as mentioned earlier, their stats are all really high, which makes them a pocket rex/spino. (damage, health, stamina are very high and weight is also quite high)

Thylacoleo can only climb up the gateway part (e.g. The stone part of stone behemoth gateway) not the actual gate istself( the opening and closing part). This goes for all other gates to. Also if you didn't know already, you jump and hold space to climb.

They're useful for escaping places and getting food but when you get a Megalania then these guys just get left behind

Also to all the mobile users, STOP ASKING, THEY'RE NOT ADDING THEM BECAUSE OF HOW COMPLEX THE CONTROLS FOR THE THYLA ARE

These Things are Awesome!! Be sure to Level their Damage , Stamina , Health. I got one with 1440 Stamina and it can run almost forever , it regenerates stamina Pretty fast , great fighter and when Heavily injured can escape easily

Very good for doing caves just make sure the health and damage is high or you might lose one.:tamed

Can get really cool mutations on these beasts

Also are really good PVE mount

The Thyla’s roar can scare Dire Wolves use this to you advantage

Its my favorite creature in ark bec it has great heath, stam, melee and weight it can climb mountains and its fast so its a great mount

The Thyla is a powerful mount that can run up cliffs and trees and leap down on once you have tamed one they will be one of your best dinos and your forever friend

Awesome for a Attacker, They do bleed now! It’s definitely worth the try to tame one.

The new Argentavis can now pick these up

One of the best mounts in the game. Can Run, Jump, Climb, and with a little lag it can even fly. In all seriousness, this is my favorite mount and always one of my first tamed. It’s an amazing combat mount that can easily run from anything it can’t kill.

These guys collect hella hide and pelt. They're better at harvesting it than giga and carcha on ASA.

Easily a Top 5 creature in the island + scorched earth tame but in other maps it's not that good

They’re incredibly useful for a lot of things. Their bleeding effect is very good to counter soakers because it deals percentage damage, so you can kill other tribe soakers with 20 bites regardless of their health if you bite them once every 5 seconds (You can use it to easily kill titanosaur too: bite it 19 times, then finish it with weapons for big exp). They can also climb walls, so they’re very strong for cave dungeons and are enough bulky to kill stuff. They can scare dinos with their roar and if you clim a tree u can perform their signature attack that blocks a small creature to the ground for 8 seconds, which is quite good for ambushes in the redwood to other players.

This used to be my favorite creature even during the old mobile. I remember I was a noob and my cousin who taught me ark got frustrated that I would play 10 minutes a day but never progressed because of raptors and argys, so he made me watch a top 10 best tames by axeman and I saw something climb a tree. I stayed the entire video to watch what that creature was and it was number 1 on his list it was the thyla. Even though on old mobile I used many op creatures like the giga, rexes, quetz, spinos, and griffins I always said my favorite creature was the thyla. Even though I never used it. Just yesterday I went on my rhynio on the new mobile and found a max level. I tamed it and it became my favorite creature once again.

These can run straight up red wood trees. Great escape when being chased down.
