Search thtough the red wood trees for them sitting on their trees. Pick them up eith a quetz and put them into a taming cage. Use a bola while tranq it with arrows or darts.

Use cooked meat(cooked mutton) or even better titanboa kibble.

When tamed they have incredible high melee and health similar to the spino. Also they can climb up manmade walls, which makes them perfect for raiding on pvp servers.

They have the ability to pounce, knocking you off your bird or other dino and dealing damage.

Don't fight to them. They crush you possibly. The best way is a trap.

I strongly suggest setting up a little stone trap, I just knocked them out of the tree and led them to the trap. Tranq and done in 21!!

If you are flying over redwood fly high otherwise one of these cats will jump out of a tree and rip your tame into pieces before you can say cat then you will fall to the floor and die of fall damage or get eaten by an Alfa carno or something

Carry a shotgun. The Redwood isn’t so bad with a pump-action (And yes, you can shoot these guys in the face while they have you “pinned”). You can spot them standing sideways high up in the big redwood trees during daylight. Just don’t panic when they jump on you.
