Make a trike taming pen but taller. Stop these guys up with an Argy and throw them in there. Tranq them out and be prepared to keep them asleep with narcotic. I like to find these on the NE side of the mountain area on Scorched Earth so they can’t jump out of a tree and knock you off your tame.

If you want to find one. Fly through Redwoods. If you want to avoid them. Fly above treetops.

Usually you can see them really well because they jutt out from trees really far. But if they are on the other side of the tree they can still se you and can jump through the tree. Let people know

Getting thylo’ed has the highest chance of giving you a heat attack

If this thing grabs you just shotgun it and try and survive. If it’s a high level you are probably dead, but try and shoot it anyway, there’s a chance of survival.

If you see it on the tree then land somewhere safe and shoot it off. If ur on a griffin you can shoot off the back obviously.

They’re great pets once you have one but the worst part of finding one! 1 it’s very hard to see due to the foggy, murky read woods 2. You can never see it on a tree until you suddenly get pounced! 🤦

If you are crossing the red woods on a flyer, go higher than the trees, these things ripped me of my ptera and violated me so many times

Best tactic I've come up with is to (double check before entering red woods) have your flyer following you and on Neutral/Attack your Target. When you're pounced off your mount, use a melee weapon in quick slot 1 (sword works perfectly) while your flyer backs you up in a few seconds, you'll almost certainly make it :P

Fly high and they cant dismount you. Otherwise avoid flying through redwood!

if you have a sword and decent armor, you should be ok if you get pounced on by a low level one. i know this because it’s happened to me multiple times, and i’ve always been able to kill it before i got too much damage. just kill it quickly enough so it doesn’t kill you with the bleeding rebuff it gives

Yeah, just let the first one today. The wife and I got two of the pelicans fr the beach tamed and mounted, and we're trying to get crystal. So we head to the redwoods, start flying through the massive trees when she goes "wtf of that" before Randy Orton nabs her ass and yeets her sixty feet down, pinning her to the ground and mauling her. She tried stabbing it with her pike but, it had her too good and her, her mount, and her otter were butchered. Luckily I was able to land on a cliff overlooking the...well, crime scene at this point, and headshot it with a rifle after it killed one of those giant rhinos and a few snakes.

And the snakes killed my bird too, so, yay, another taming run.

Don't run into these while trying to find a beehive, when you destroy the beehive, a few seconds later and then you will get dismounted and die 150m above the ground( I experienced it)

Be aware that ark will be ark and these tree kitties will still continue to defy the laws of physics and jump like 5 mile distances

I was flying near the Red woods when i landed for som stanima but a titanaboa found me so I flew away as fast as I could as I fly something jumps from the trees and takes me off my mount I tried finding my perodon but couldn't find it a few days later while I am playing I get an alert saying your perodon was killed and I was so mad cuz I looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it

Keep a harpon gun and you can net them when they jump on you and can dart them net to tame

Use a snow owl to search high level or you just want to revenge your beloved dinos
