What are tips for thylacoleo? Tips and strategies for thylacoleo in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
So. Taming a thylacoleo isnt really easy. Today was the first time i have tamed a thylacoleo and i must say, trying to find it is a pain. I used my quetzal and a parasaur called "bait" on turret mode to find him. If you cant use a parasaur try just going around the waters near redwoods and try to spot 1. Note: Better use a quetzal if you have one, dino's cant dmg you while holding them with quetzal. Find a thyla, shoot it with a single arrow and when ut falls go and grab it. Carry it into a cage or tranq it till it falls unconcious. You will need around 40-60 cooked meat depending on lvl (i am on 0.2 difficulty). Around 20-40 tranq arrows and at least 200 narcotics. When it falls asleep put in the food od choice and narcotics and wait for it to wake up. It takes about nearly an hour to tame. I hope this helps. It's torpor falls down really quickly so watch out for that. If you need help ask. My name is WakeyJakey

Thylas are really hard to tame and they prefer cooked stuff insted of raw if you use cooked prime meat thylas can still take over 150-300 bio toxins depending on level I recomand you guys building a spike wall around it after knocking it so it dosent get ambushed and keep checking the torpor to make sure you don’t over hit it
This thing is the reason I lost all of my gear including my spino if you’re in the redwoods Always be aware he will dismount you and kill you in seconds so be ready to shoot as soon as he grabs you
I'm a perfectionist so I never end up taming one of these with cooked prime meat or lamb chops for like 70% taming effectiveness (they prefer cooked meat to raw meat) but also getting exceptional kibble is such a drag even though it's absolutely worth it.
In summary if you aren't too lazy get exceptional kibble and breed these, an imprinted one is the mount you'll use 90% of the time
A good way I found to find these is to go to the redwoods riding a parasaur and walk into the forest spamming the parasaur’s ability. It will alert you to a thylacoleo in a tree if there is one, just make sure to look up at the trees near you if it finds enemies. Also would recommend bring a dino or two to protect you and your parasaur. Just signal them to passive when you find your thylacoleo. Hope this helps.
I would like to see this in ark mobile
Ok so here’s how you tame them find one that’s on a tree but don’t get too close find a rock to sit on shoot him and he will jump off the tree but won’t be able to attack you then just tranq him out and put spikes around him once he’s out hope this helps
They were an australian marsupial, known as the marsupial lion. thylacoleo carbides is scientific name
Do not think that you're safe from them if you're not flying. They will still jump on you even if you're on land. So just don't walk too next to the big trees and you'll be fine
Also always bring some friends or dinos with u when going to redwood just in case lol
Just go to redwoods and look for a big ass cat chomping on a sheep that's how I got mine.
Thylacoleos wake up kinda fast when cryo sicked
Don't do it
I tried to tame a level 40 with my 174 argy, I died so I came back on my 134 pt, it died, I died. I came back again on my 202 frog, my argy died and I finally knocked the thyla out. A raptor came and butchered me. I quit before I knew if my frog made it
I was just looking for obsidian when out of nowhere this guy comes and knocks me off my Petra pins me to the ground and killed me
These things will leap off trees, and scare the shit out of you.. I've lost an argent by one cause it glitched and bugged him out when pinning it down
This cat jumps on you before killing you by surprise
I’d give you a tip, but I’m getting mauled by a thyla trying to get ingredients for veggie cakes. Remember to look up. Also please send help.
This big kitty somehow got out of my trap every time I tried to trap it. I was sad........ BUT! I got an idea! 💡💡💡 To use the Beelzebufo! Long story short, I tamed it, and now one of my favorite tames. 🤩 (I used cooked prime meat to tame my Thyla)
