Honestly, people saying that the red woods is a no fly zone are really over exaggerating. These guys are a rare find a d I've only ever been pounced on once.

Use a Snow Owl with its predator vision thingy you can easily spot them on the red wood trees.

Take a rex in a cryopod with you to dispose of the low levels or use a good shotgun.

Net gun the one you want to tame and focus on headshots because it will knock them out quicker.

I was just flying around on my wyvern looking for a megaloceros and they jumped me and I died😔 no clue if she's still alive or not but I'm hoping she's ok. I then took another wyvern to go find my stuff and got jumped again.. On the third wyvern and if I get jumped on this one to I'm just getting my giga at this point. I was so shocked when I found out they jumped from trees😭 now if you excuse me I need to look for blood and snow.

On the Island they are extremely hard to find. Not only do they have a low spawn chance but they have the same issues Manas have on Extinction where they are too aggressive for their own good, Thylas will attack anything in the wild, even Rexes and Brontos and have a wide aggro radius, unfortunately they don’t seem to realize they are terribly outmatched and usually charge straight to their deaths.

Don’t go to forest without protection if so we’ll your doomed be careful

If u play on mobile then just use a direwolf to do the caves and find the artifact

If you got a net gun you can shoot it at them to get out of their pounce grab

There always at the end of the griffin base both sides is where I’ve been finding them. Go get a bear trap if you have a griffin you can pick it up and put it in there if your on foot just walk to it get it angered and then place it. If you have a kibble mode and taming speed is all the way up I was able to tame in one bite and it was lvl 243

Ok 2 things I get it they are dangerous but I kill them with a primtive sord and flak with 235 but I don't need that much. second of u on a man like rag or scorched I know for sure you will find in the desert in the badlands parts. Any map with desert should work tho.

Ok, for all you nubs out there, these have a bleed attack and will pounce kn you, this has happened many many times to me, so please do be careful in your red wood exploring 😁 hope this helped a bit! I suggest to bring a stegosaurus for when you go to redwoods, you can’t get pounced! Bye! -Kira

Don’t go to redwoods anywhere to tame these. Go to the south area of ragnarok. They spawn much more frequently and have a higher chance to be a good level because ragnarok has a greater chance of high levels spawning.

I think these are very good I had one level 167 and he was a beast he had over 4000 health and could kill a level 16 alpha carno without losing half his health
