This thing is a beast, it will kill you in a few hits, its super fast and it can demolish mostly anything exept metal and tek, if you see this just try to stay as far as possible from it and do ur best not to aggro it

These guys are the worst. You wouldn't expect a herbivore to aggro on you from just even breathing near it. If you're a low level player and you have a trike, mount on the trike and use their knockback to kite these jerks until they die or you die. Their high damage output, torpor-inducing attacks and quick deterioration to armor durability means engaging one in a melee fight is almost suicidal unless you are in a possession of a melee weapon that can kill one in a few hits and good armor that's above on par or better than the armor value of riot armor.

Recommendation: Use a large mount like a Spino or a Rex to kill them. You can kill them quicker if you own a tamed Giganotosaurus and a Rocket Launcher.

If you go less than a centermetre away you’re fine but if you walk inf fount of it it will tear you to pieces

I was only level 14 when I was going to the hill East of the spawn to get crystals for a spy glass. I, being dumb, took 5 low level dilos along with my parasail to defend me. They did well, saving me from raptors and dilos. We achieved our mission. On our way back, I saw it and I recognized it from when I played on mobile (now on ps4). I knew I needed to run but I couldn’t turn with the parasaur. It attacked us and I thought my only hope was all of us attacking it at once. So I got off my parasaur and we all fought bravely. Then my dilos all died in two-three hits. I followed and I saw my parasaurs death on the top of my screen. I wanted revenge, but this time I wasn’t dumb and I climbed on a rock to fire arrows at it and defeated it. I took back my stuff and left to mourn at my base.

Do not go near it if you aren’t prepared specifically for it. Only go after it from higher ground.

Just killed one with a slingshot whilst on top of a rock, didn’t save my Carbonemys Greg though but if you see one and can’t escapd try getting to higher ground

Okay so an actual tip for my mobile players out there, here are the best ways to combat this hellspawn of a creature(i still find it cute tho). (BTW THIS IS ALL CONSIDERING YOU ARE ON EASY MODE WITH MAX THERI LEVEL CAPPING AT 30)

—TIP TIME—

Tip 1.

Once you have completed the ‘Terror Bird Hunt’ pursuit you will find yourself with, quite literally, the best weapon in the game. The Mastercraft Sword. It may seem expensive at first, but trust me when I say that this thing is worth every iron bar. IT SHREDS. Like, SHREDS. One of the most effective ways to kill a Therizinosaurus head on is to use this sword (but MAKE SURE you have decent armor, I recommend chitin as a minimum). A few sword slashes and this thing is done.

Tip 2.

Longnecks are the way forward! Once you retrieve a good enough Longneck, these things are light work. One or two bullets to the head, and they’re cooked. Personally, I use the Apprentice Longneck, as damage is good and has relatively good durability(it’s also the only other longneck i own other than the primitive). MAKE SURE to be wary of it’s speed, as one shot is all it takes to get this thing hot on your feet! And trust me when I say this, IT IS FAST. You can’t run unless you have a fast mount (raptors are too slow, I have experience) or a flying mount. Otherwise, you’re merely a piece of meat for the Vegan Rex.

Tip 3.

Trapping. If you are really having trouble with these guys, simply use a trap! (You should know i have zero experience with traps so search it up or use a large bear trap). Traps are VERY good for maiming these pesky chickens, as it can stop them in their tracks! This same thing can also be used as a way to potentially tame them, but that’s up to you. MAKE SURE you bring a good enough weapon to finish it off before it escapes though!

Use berries to tame this beast.Yes!berries.I thought this thing ate meat since it looked like a carnivore, put prime meat in its inventory after a while it woke up while I was guarding it, ofc I died.Finally searched what that thing eats and it was berries?!?

These guys need a nerf because it almost took out febrile (my crystal wyvern) and my wyvern did like no damage to it

My first tames are always a dilophosaur swarm and I always put them on neutral so whenever one gets attack they all go wasp mode the spray poison and bite and claw what attacked them it takes a matter of seconds even on a trike! But turns out it doesn’t work on this ostrich. So do what I did shoot it and ride a raft to the nearest giga I know Mr. IM GONNA KILL YOU. Ya he finished Mr. oversized ostrich in a matter of moments. Or you can lure that bird with claws to a megalodon! Both work out with bird blood everywhere.😄😃

So I live in the south of the island in a peninsula and I can’t go exploring without finding one of them(mobile btw) and for all the noobs out there seeing people say “just run”, don’t run on foot unless you have a high movement speed stat. If not, use a fast tame for example an iguanodon or just straight up use a flyer.

When I was first playing this game, I saw it and I thought it was passive so I went near it since I didn’t know what it was called at the time and I wanted to search it up on dododex and then the tickle chicken chased me across three continents with speed faster then a farmer with a shotgun and killed everyone and everything dont go near it

Listen, this is not really a tip but I will give you one thing as a beginner player, RUN IF YOU EVER SEE HIM ON THE PATH! Seriously forget we’re you need to go and turn back, you will lose all your things and have a stressful time trying to retrieve it back quickly. Please keep in mind of this everyone who’s a starter on ARK, or anybody else who’s never encountered him. (Although I can’t lie, I luckily found an egg of this guy without him around, good luck to you guess as well ☺️ )

When I saw it I stayed as far as way as possible at first I thought it was passive and wouldn’t hurt me but once I got close it said ( dangerous area) so I backed of the next day my para was dead I Tried to kill it but it killed me I moved 100 Km away I never came back to that spot again I’m afraid to play the game now

I have my island infested with these. But I never tamed one I have a spino and 2 rex covering my back yet I am afraid of going near one since it has also got his back covered with his friends.

Came across by accident chasing a parasaur while training my pack of 8 dilos... dont need to train any dilos now, he killed all of them in a couple seconds then me.

Speed 400 god console doesn’t work,they will get you,even if it’s a lake.they will get you.
