For the level 24 person, do not fight it, I lost prob 18-20 dilos and one sarco dilo rushing it low level because of its knockback (I also died and respawned twice). Try to live with them until you get guns, they have a small area of aggression, but will chase you across the map if agroed. If that is out of the question, Ik this is going to be sad, but send some dilos to fight it while you and as many tames as possible (set on passive temporally so they do not join the fight) run for you life. They should not chase if your Dino’s that attacked it die.

Wondering how these guys are so strong with their claws? Here’s a quick history lesson that may be wrong about why they have those big sharp claws.
They use those claws for gathering berries, since they are herbivores, the sleek claws could slice through unwanted fiber that was in the way and get those yums. Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’m stupid.

Dropped 50 narcotics on this, and about 12 tranq darts, spent half an hour monitoring its taming progress, protecting it from danger. It was at 95% taming progress and its torpor was 60. I ran to the bushes to grab narco berries praying that it would tame in time. I came back, found it standing up. I was relieved to see it was tamed. Then I walked up and was brutually attacked by it, left at 1/4 hp. You can imagine how i felt afterwards.
