You can use stim berrys to lower it's hunger faster, but it will mess up taming effectiveness. This is the same with any tame. If you aren't taming for levels use this trick.

It took 14 track darts to the head to knockout. It took about 600 narcotics (I had to borrow from someone at a point) and it took about 3 hours (it was level 10)

They are amazing for wood, and since beavers are hard to find, these are worth it for wood.

Lure it to a ledge with a flier like a Ptera or Argy and then tranquil it happy taming don't forget those narcotics!

Best ground mount IMO, my overall favorite mount in Ark. Boost mov speed and attack and you'll have a reliable mount that can travel the entire map.

No prefered crop when taming (I thought their was a preference), and expect to use lots of narcotics because that torpor number will be high but it drains fast.

It's also not a fast dinosaur, so it can be easily kited to knock it out.

Tame takes a long time and the torpor drops fast. Ended up sitting on my couch staring at it and watching YouTube for 2 and a half hours.

If you are taming one to raid stone bases it's not worth it, because it does 1 damage per hit at 130 Melee

Level 30 took longr than the timer said to tame. If not using kibble dont plan on leaving the area for 4 + hours

186 narcotics for lvl 20 is BS. Make sure you have atleast 1000 for 20 as its torpor goes doen fast

If you are pow level run cos there are very fast and those claws will do serious damage

They do more damage to Dino that go into a shell or ball up
