Probably the best early game berry gatherer not because of how much it yields per plant, but because it’s attack covers a larger area. This means you can gather multiple plants at once instead of one at a time. If you are in an area with lots of bushes clumped together, you can gather berries faster than other early game dinos.

The new TLC update made these guys OP! Now they harvest tons of thatch, wood, and berries with their new plate forms! These guys are like tanks now! I tamed a lv 411 today, and it literally shreds though other dinos! By far I would tame a stego instead of a bronto, or a trike!

One of the best tanks in the entire game, I used Tek stegosaurus to beat every boss on the game, excluding the desert Titan and Moeder.

Amazing soakers, you can run up to turret towers with a rocket launcher and shoot them off the back of these.

These guys are heavenly defenders I was with him and two dilos he was only level 27 and killed a spino also while riding surviver does not take any damage because of the spikes I give these guys a 10,out of 10 they are also good harvesters for thatch

Stego is a great way to get narcoberrys for tranq arrows or narcotics. It’s a great tame for beginners to help get an easy food source. :)

Sharpened plate mode is fantastic at getting biotoxin from red mushrooms, don't even need to be close enough to endanger yourself. Also gets great weight reduction on berries and all the Abberation mushrooms except aggeravic.

In short terms. Stegos have three modes, heavy plate, sharp plate, and hard plate.

Heavy plate gathers more thatch

Sharp plates gather berries and attacks with more power

Hard plate gathers more wood.

Also note that only pc and console can do this so Srry mobile.

I used one of these guys to gather trees and berries, never have to run around and gather fiber or wood anymore 😅

Great for gathering wood and thatch in low resource areas. Way better than the trike although it isn't nearly as strong.

One fantastic trait of the stego is that you cannot be dismounted while riding one. This makes it a safe (albeit very slow) mount for exploring swamps and the Redwoods as thylas and kapros become far more manageable.

The stegosaurus is great for wood gathering if you need a bunch and don’t have a lot of time because of their massive weight capacity. Even though it’s a pretty slow tame it is great for gathering resources in abundance.

Huge damage soakers, I’ve used them for almost every boss fight In the game, be sure to tame the tek variant to get those better stats

Slow and cumbersome but can carry a metric ton and can take down a cement house. I highly recommend for starting players.

One of the best dinos to use for the new shadow mane prowl and ferox cull because of the ability to not be dismounted when hit. One of these guys with a good saddle plus a group of reapers you can easily solo alpha!

Used four of these with ten Rex’s, a yutyrannus, and three megatheriums for the beta broodmother fight. Went very well as the steggos can knock back waves of araneos at a time, though I do suggest leveling up hit points and melee high before you do.

Stegosauruses are very good at collecting berries, many people think they are better at collecting berries than Triceratops. Even though they are slow, they can defend you with their powerful knockback. These are a good source of prime meat, because they are one of the easiest dinosaurs to kill which gives prime meat.
