Who said you need trap for these boys?

First, get tranq darts and biotoxin (their torpor sucks). Then, get a Tapejara/ Raptor/ Equus so you can shot while you are on the saddle. They will run away after you shoot them some times so chase them. One knocked it out make sure to check on the torpor level so you don't lose it. Then, name it Pookie.

You don't need traps if you are fast and more intelligent than them🍷

Two ways to tame spino (especially on aberration)

Make a basic stone trap, 3x3 or 3x4 foundation, at least 3 door frames high and a wooden ramp.

Aggro him and run him up ramp

Make a bed near by if not fast enough

(I have 190% movement speed on official for reference so you might need to be close to trap to run him in)

Then knock him out, cryo him or demo door frames and enjoy your spino!

Another way to do it is(but not as reusable) is 3-4 stone dino gates and a bear trap.

For 3 gates, position the first two in kind of a wide triangle, put the bear trap right between them, run spino in and trap him in with last gate

For 4 gates, position them in a square, put bear trap, run spino in and trap him in with last gate

I usually see like 47 of these guys strolling around the beach slapping everyone, so uhh… just grab a ramshackle crossbow with toxicants in and try not to get slapped yourself.

Another good way to tame a spino is to bring a lot narcotics, 20 exceptional kibble (To tame more if needed), and a flying tame that you can shoot off of(I use wyvs), I'm not sure how many tranq darts but bring 100 to 200, from there on you will be ready, I hope it works for you!

Use a trap at least 3 walls high ( no windows or doorframes instead of walls). Its torpor run comes quick and takes him to hell and not back. Don’t knock him in water because it drowns.

I was taming a spino but then the bad thing is after I brought 258 narcotics and 57 prime meat and 190 raw meat then I put I on the spino then it got nighttime then I went back in to my house with my argy after I woke up I came back to it the worst problem was an another spino was nearby I tryed to kill it but it's on max lvl-300 so that's why you must put those spike walls thingys around it

All you need is a good bow (I used ascendant)and tranq arrows,find a low spino level and shoot it.I managed to tame one at level 25 (fyi I’m on easy mode on different modes do this at your own peril)

I just build a trap close by a spino if i see one and its high level then trap it and tame it . DONE

I've seen alot of people actually seeing these in the spawn area too (or near them)

As you always ahould be, just carry a bunch of tranq darts with you and climb a high enough rock, then you can put it to sleep easily.

Once it gets knocked out you can feed it raw prime fish meat or normal fish meat:

If you are trying to tame a Spinosaurus and you can’t do don’t want to build a trap try using green obelisk it worked well for me. But of course when I do it I hit my level 120 right after it goes down

I want to tame spino level one but i don't have the saddle

I knocked one out and I went to my base to get the kibble when I came back the spino was gone I knocked it out near a mountain so it could be easy to find but it was gone any tips on why that happens?

It's quite hard to tame of these bad boys, unless you know how to do it. Spinos get distracted EXTREMELY easily, even a coel will make them stop chasing you, so by FAR the best way to tame them is to trap them. Use 3x3 stone foundations. then build 12 doorframes on each side as walls, and put a ramp big enough for the spino to walk on. You know, the classic trap. Kite them into it(the have a big turning raidos on all 4, so take note of it) and then trap them. They are quite fast so use something fast too, like an argy or ptero. Then, once trapped, knock em out with tranq darts, and give them exceptional (or argy kibble on mobile) kibble, if u can't get that use raw prime fish meat. Once tamed (it will take a while, get at least 300 narcos, even if ur using kibble) and once tamed, slap a saddle on it and ur good to go!

dude it's so easy to tame these powerful dinos just get on a cliff or high rocks where they can hit u then tranq arrow their faces I did it in no time if u want turn up the tame right so u dont wait hours taming lol I used narcotics and bio toxic and I am pretty new at the game try to get low level ones bc it's easier and u can level it up overtime by killing low stuff plus at decent levels ot can take out t rex no problem

I use rhyino and place in a self made trap with 20 foundation stone/metal and 20 door frames and only need 35 arrows with mastercraft Xbow lvl 130 dpino

Torpor goes down faster than Rex so be careful, even god console might not save you

On mobile, when I was new and low level but wanted to tame spinos - I used to bring in some life bait to the spinos to distract it from attacking me (tamed carbos and parasaurs with high health, around 800 or 1200) or let it aggro a wild Dino for a bit, and when it focuses on the Dino bait, I hop to a safe distance and tranq it until it was knocked out. It took me at least 10-30 tranq arrows.

I just give it raw fish, and when taming it took too much time and the torpor bar starts draining fast I give it some narcotics or bio toxin I get from killing nearby cnidarias (at least 60 narcotics or 30+ bio toxins) then just wait.

Kept doing it until I have like 4 spinos run after runs.

The spinos often spawn on the coasts and beaches in the footpaw region which is where I usually found them. Sometimes they do spawn in the river near the volcano and the waterfall and rivers in the redwood forest.

Things you will need:

Tranq arrows or darts. ( I needed only 12 )

Longneck rifle or crossbow. { I used crossbow}

The trap method:

Take some stone pillars and place in an area a spino will fit. Then tranq it up and feed it (raw prime fish meat works best )

Your spino is tamed

The old school method:

Get up in an area higher than the spino and knock it out. You will need to chase after it tho. Then feed it.
