Honestly, these things seem content to attack anything and everything. I just tamed one without it landing a single hit on me, and I was standing STILL. (...on the back of my Rex so I had a height advantage to my tranq dart range. And protection just in case.) All I did was stand there firing my darts. She came towards me, but then got distracted to kill a Dilo. By the time she'd snaked her way round to me, she was so high on torpor that she turned and started to flee, not before I stuck a couple more in her and finished the job, though.

They love fish meat than meat so feed it with fish meat or prime fish meat

Here is how to tame a spino!

Material:

Trap 1

9 stone foundations

36 stone doorframes

9 wooden ramps

Trap 2:

6 Dino doorframes and 1-2 large bear traps.

Use Dododex to find out how many tranq dart/arrows and bring 50 to 100 more.

Cryo a good herbivore/prepare TONS of narc berries because they wake up insanely fast

Steps:

1.Have a flyer that can actually carry the trap if u use the first.

2.Find a high lv spino

3.lead it into the trap and if it’s trap 2 quickly put the 1 gate left similar to Rex trap.

4.Shoot a bunch of tranq into its face/body

5.Put food that’s at least better than prime. I suggest prime fish or kibble

6. Starve your tame and use the bed trick and shove down hundreds of narcoberries if needed

7. Boom you have a amphibious carnivore!

Advantages over Rex(which you do know how to tame I suppose)

Faster, and stam lasts longer

Has a hydrophilic buff that increases speed stam and dmg

Has way better DPS than Rex

Has incredible knock back that kills Rexes and alpha raptor carnos.

Harvests loads of fish and bio toxin

When this dino is in low health or will get knocked out this dino will run super fast,you cant even keep up so I suggest to build a trap to tame this

before you think about taming these things recommended Using a trap because some people really think a 10 pillar tall thing not its not a good idea since the spino will run away. after you almost have it. and this thing is wayy faster than you think so either use a Trap or if your on gen2 don’t use a trap since you Can LITERALLY Fly and TRANQ it

I love spinous soooo much they are my favourite dinosaur in ark I recommend getting high up and shooting it with a long neck rifle and trank darts

They are not easy to tame but a easy way is to get one large trap and 2 stone dino gates and pillars about 8 and build it then attract a spino then run out the Crack and run to the open door close it then tranq it

Dont be scared of the big boi . He just wants some fishies.

Warning: these things are super slick and slippery! They will manage to avoid your trap many times!

This is for all those who think Spinos can breathe underwater. They cannot, you should be aware of it knocking out in water.

Spinos’ tame with fish meat faster than normal prime meat should’ve used prime fish

if you don’t want to fight any super dangerous stuff that give raw prime fish meat you can kill saber tooth salmon who aren’t that hard to kill you can 1 hit the with a axe

If you can’t trap it, find a way to stand on a cliff or something and shoot down at it until it runs away, then follow it. (Little something for those who don’t wanna try to lure it into a trap like me)

How to tame a spino

Step 1 get tranqs lots if your trying to tame a high level

Step 2 get prime meat or prime fish meat and naracotics these guys topper drains fast

Step 4 if your the right level give it the saddle

Step 5 wait for it to tame and surround him in spike walls for protection

Step 6 name him

How can you knockout or kill this MONSTAH coz its been eating all of my livestock and destroying me farm

These beasts run very fast and I found a cheaper trap for it. 5x5 stone foundation with 4 walls high and ramps works on trappin' it, however, it's hard to get it in so ready your bird to take a beating.

Don't try to quick whistle while standing on them, it'll make your tames attack the spino, whoopsie!

Find big tall rock or make a trap or use a fast dino to use weapon just shoot the spino with tranq arrow or tranq dart until its knock out use so many narcotic or just use soothing balm to tame faster use narcotic if you don't have balm because spino torpor drop really fast and use prime fish meat to tame faster

You see spinos are great to kill bosses even without it's buff but a rex need a yutyranus while a spin doesnt bec even if it doesnt have a buff it still stronger than a rex plus I had fought a level 100 alpha rex with a level 75 spino and still win and had about 1k health left!

I constructed a 3x3x3 stone doorway trap with wooden ramps to give him something to whack at while I pumped him full of tranqs.
