(Not too long ppl, read this it'll help ya)

He's found at inland waters mainly,and shores too but prolly less.

U need Dino gateways ,Tranq arrows, narcotics or biotoxin(loads of 'em coz high torpor drain)

For lower levels(1-30) u can use wooden dino gateways, but it's upto you to decide what kind of gateways to use depending on the number of gateways u use. If u use 6 ,u can box him with no spaces left for movement, make sure they're not arranged symmetrically. This way i don't think u need stone or metal gateways. If u use 7 dino gates u need to leave regular spaces between them but the spino can rotate in it, prolly bite the gateways.

If u use 6 gateways u could use the starve method without stress,then feed him.

IMPORTANT: You get a Free Soothing Balm after completing the "Kill 5 Megapiranha" pursuit.

Trick into water and shoot tranqs from below

Easy take strategy: you will need 4 stone Dino gates, large bear trap, and tranqs. Simply place 3 gates at 90 degree angles and it’s the opening facing the spino. Put a large bear trap in your he middle. Aggro the spino and have it run into the gate trap. When it is caught in the bear trap, walk around the other side and place the last gate where the spino came in from and tranq it. Boom, spino tamed.

All of y'all using traps to tame these, I mean its smart and all but it's way more fun to get a fast mount like a raptor or a sabertooth and run it in circles. The only problem is if you're near water, they'll start swimming, which could be bad if their torpor is already way down. In that case, baryonyx is your best mount for that, but just make sure to try and get it running inland and not towards the water. I'd also recommend a ravager for this since they jump super high and run fast.

To the guy who said a level 2 spino was really near your base: Same thing happened to me! I say trust Dododex. If you’d like a tip from me, climb up very high and tranq it. Or if you want to kill it, bows and normal arrows work (really, I almost did it once, when it was down a cliff and couldn’t climb up to attack, and then I accidentally jumped... R.I.P.). When I knocked mine out, it was in water. But where it was when standing, it could breath. Even when I knocked it out (with it’s head now underwater), it’s oxygen didn’t drop. I had lots of bio toxin and used around 30. Also, again, about the bow-and-arrow killing, I suggest 80 arrows (or 70, maybe, just around there). Well, I hope this helped!

I was taming one and left to go make more narcotics but it was awake once I got back to it and then my raptor killed it :(

how to tame very fast:

you dont need many narcotics, id say like 10. up to 75 narcotics should be good.

but bring a lot of raw FISH meat. raw fish meat tames it real fast. just go kill some pirranah cealocanth or salmon. or any other fish.

i tamed mine in about 1 min [including knocking out time] just make sure you got a good perch or a flyer to chase it once it runs. also please do this if its in the water- it will tame before it drowns.

Why do people use traps when taming animals so much? If there's not a good rock or cliff around then I guess you have to use a trap but that's so rare.

Great creature for assisting you in battle. I tamed one at level 28 and it can now kill any other spinos. Extremely powerful if health leveled up. Does take a good amount of narcotics to tame though. If you can get up on a cliff and let the tranq arrows rain down.👍😄

Hilariously and I’m not joking these are great beginner tames on mobile do dilo pursuit and get a good bow and then get tranqs and do megapirahna pursuit. I did this as a level 25 then I just shot it and put fish meat and balm in it and it tamed but I got the saddle at level 71 so…. Overall great tame way better than Rex.

I got two level twenty’s that made a baby and when I tranqed these guys they took 5 raw meat but I tranqed another and it took so long I used smoothing balm just tranq from the high ground there in beaches and swamps for a level 10-20 it will take 5-20 tranqs use smoothing balm or kibble to tame prefers kibble regular kibble and argentavis kibble easy to kill and they might kill your weaker pets so defend like to bless the baby also it takes 5 campfires to warm the egg

Contrary to popular belief, these guys are simply territorial rather than aggressive; they would much rather play in the rivers and catch fish than chase a human. Because of this temperament, even Spinos know their limits.

This can be taken advantage of by reducing their health until they are greatly wounded - less than half.

This will send the Spino into a panic that will cause it to run away from players, tamed creatures, and anything that will fight back (although it will still try to catch fish if left unprovoked, but seems to get frightened and run away if hit by piranha during this time).

All you have to do from here is chase it and shoot it with Tranq Arrows as it continues to flee in panic.

Having a Mesopithecus set totarget the Spino on your shoulder during this time will be beneficial, as frightened Spinos can easily outrun a player if they want to if the player hasnt sufficiently leveled their movement speed stat.

As for how to damage it to where it will become startled, all you have to do is use your creature that can deal the most damage out of all of your tames, and hit the Spino until it becomes panicked and runs away in a desparate attempt to preserve itself, and then get off and proceed to chase it with your Tranqs and Mesopithecus. Just be careful not to get near its feet and watch out for other predators during that time.

If you want to tame a spino on easy get 30 tranq arrows 40raw fish meat 50 narcotics and a high cliff to stand on

and keep shooting it till it is knocked out

Picked up my first spino lastnight; was looking for a baryonyx to start caving, but found this bad ol' 150 boy instead.

I built a 3x4 stone trap, as I watched him kill everything in sight, and led him in. I didnt tranq it out right away, but instead took my ptera back to base, got supplies, and swam my bad B sarco back to the beach, killing a few megalodons along the way.

The sarco does NOT get prime meat, so I had to bail off the back to harvest (or while mounted, but jumping off is easier and faster IMO)... parked in a spike wall fence (wasnt needed) and fed narcotics and went for prime fish when needed.

Easy.

The worst part, in all honesty, was trying to hit the damn thing and not run out of tranq darts, lol.

FYI, I killed EVERYTHING on ny little walk back to my base on Herb Isle. It was average on everything according to the calculator... except melee, hehehe... disappointed in its movement in water, but thats about it, the thing is a monster for sure.

I went to tame a lvl 70 bary.it was killed by a 125 spino.so I decided to tame it.i used 4dino gates pen but when keeping the bear trap I put in middle.it was trapped .but I couldn't keep 4th gate properly coz the spino is halfway out so keep in mind to put the trap somewhat near to the front gate. So it gets trapped completely inside .I tamed it at last on my second attempt

In Aberration, they are super common on any body of water. To knock out simply build a trap near a river consisting on a single behemoth gate and a a semi circle of stone dino gates. Shoot the twerp from inside the trap and close the gate behind him and boom, he is trapped. From there just shoot at his face and remember to feed it raw FISH MEAT which works wonders. To tame a spino use a grappling hook a bow and 60 tranq arrows it worked for me.
