For all of you saying a spino is better than a rex, each is good at its own things: rexes are tanks and decent mutations make them pipular for boss fights. They are easier to tame a breed than a spino. A spino can swim and gets buffs easier. It is also faster and can gather fish meat in lareger amounts. Both tames are awesome so when debating between the two just tame them both.

So I have both a spino and a Rex and I think that the spino is the best is faster, in both land and water, and more maneuverable and more beautiful

I will say that the spino is my favorite dinosaur so use a lot of narchs to not die By:Aiden

Forget traps I have tamed 2 with a cliff. Get on top snipe with crossbow and stone arwow then move to tranq arows and boom he is down

Real easy to knock out. Use stone dinosaur gates to create a semi circle. With a fast mount agro the spino and run through the gates. Tranq spinos from the safety. Advanced players will have a door closed behind the spino so it can not run when near being downed

If you play on mobile just use soothing balm and you won’t need any narcotics / bio toxins

Extremely easy tame (for low levels)

Saw a lvl 10 near my base whilst travelling with my raptor to go sarco hunting. It was fighting an iguanodon and didn’t notice me. I decided to try shooting it with tranq arrows, not expecting it to pass out second arrow. 10x soothing balm, only took 2 pieces of prime meat. And now I have a lvl 10 spino. Only 50 more levels for its saddle.

(Don’t waste your time planning traps, just shoot and run)

However much narcotic you plan on bringing, bring more. I'm talking like 400 - 500 narcotic if you're taming with prime meat. These guys' torpor goes down almost as fast as a beavers, so be prepared!

I tamed him with narcotic it took about 10-17 it was not so hard to tame but knocking it was the hard part for me

I hate my life it take me 2 hours to tame this

If your bringing narcotics bring arond 52 just incase

If you don’t want to use trap the you will need very high speed,200%+ for me and barely chased it,DO NOT try tame one they were near Oscan,they will run to Oscan and never come back again

OK here’s a good tip do the hunt piranhas and get soothing balm and find one of these knock it out put fish meat and there you go.

Guys please read. You need ATLEAST 60 tranq arrows for a level 5 spino and have about 80 Narcotics on you. Trust me they are 1 of the hardest tame. Also bring a creature with you, they are super fast. Bring a strong creature, the Spinosaurus is near swamps and these are the creatures they are close to that are dangerous.: Trex, Spinosaurus, Therizino, Alpha raptors and also Carno’s so please be careful.

So for a good tip is you should make a big base trap for the spoon and sometimes its fin is in the way so then you should use either darts or toxics arrows which work more efficiently and use fish meat and lots of narcotics or stuff like that :)

If you are a noob and want to kill a spino place down a wooden spike wall and lure it in and it should die easily (Keep in mind that this only works on lv 1-40 spinos).

Build a small stone room of stone with a reinforced door so it can't get in and make some openings in it so you can tranq it out from inside and stay untouched. Once knocked out use fish meat or kibble, if not just use meat but don't cook anything because it takes longer, uses more, and reduces effectiveness.

When knocking them out, u just need to sit on a small ledge that they cant climb and shoot them and once u do that, put raw meat and bio toxins. Why bio toxins? Becuase u can force feed them toxinsto keep em knocked out. Ps, i dont know if u can force feed on pc or console. (Im a mobile player)
