Once tried to tame one for my bf while he was offline bc he wanted one. Flew with my Pterra and shot it full of 20!!!!! tranq arrows . Didn’t even flinch. I got too cocky and went too close to the edge of the cliff i was standing on. I fell off RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SPINO. it’s health was low enough that it started to run away. Without looking back, i whistled for my Pterra to follow and ran for my life. currently trying to get another one :( wish me luck!

To be honest, I feel like the spino SHOULD be better than the Rex. Heard these were nerfed in ASA. I’m glad I play mobile, cause it would be sad if my spino couldn’t kill a Rex like I do a plate of well cooked steak. Peace ya’ll. I vote keep spinos up there. 👆

I tamed one low level without any trap and just a bow lol just be careful while doing it

As a beginner they’re your worst nightmare they will destroy your base and all your tames BUT as a tame your everyone else’s worst nightmare

Beware at least one spino ALWAYS spawns dangerously close if you pick south zone 3

Be sure to have a lot of narcotics for high lvl tames as spino do tend to wake up quickly.

So I was just going about my day in ark, and then I see the spino. I don’t realize how much health they had and how much damage they did.😐 I was a frikin idiot and shot it with a rifle. It was barreling twards me. If your a starter like me, DONT ALERT IT

Hello survivor, if your reading this then you want to learn about the spino and how to tame it! So welcome to the ARK taming and egg stealing guide on all ark creatures

To tame a spino you will need: four Dino gateways and gates preferably stone because they can damage wood. A lot of tranqs, for a 150 I suggest around 100-135 arrows and if your using darts grab a few less, And a large bear trap or two.

Finding the spino

Finding spinos on the island is pretty easy when they spawn, but they share spawns with fish so the fish might make it so spinos cannot spawn, if this happens just run up and down the river killing fish, once most are dead leave render distance and come back, there should be 1-2 spinos now. On abberation (the map I mostly play on) finding them is easy but it’s more the avoiding them that sucks for abb players. On most maps they spawn in small lakes or rivers and sometimes streams.

Taming the spino

Taming a spino seems like a hard task but it’s really not, all you need to do is make a square out of the Dino gates and it’s one wall missing, that wall should be where you lead the spino in, once you have the square place large bear traps in it and take a flyer or shoot the spino from behind the trap to get it in. Once it is stuck in the bear traps that you put in the trap go up behind it and put the last door and gate. Congratulations! You have trapped a spino!

Knocking it out

I know your wondering why I did a section on this but it’s to warn you, spinos need a ton of narcotics and you will need to be constantly monitoring the area for threats like a Rex or ravagers and you will also need to be constant monitoring it’s torpidity so it does not wake up. I suggest eliminating al hostile creatures around and have you creature out on neutral and set it somewhere to protect the spino and then you can watch it (neutral makes it attck anything that attacks you or the Dino itself).

You now have your very own spino!!

Whenever you're taking the Spino, remember to take at the very least 300 narcotics. It wakes up FAST, and whenever your taming ANY creature, surround it with wooden spike walls! Saves me countless tames from smaller pack animals. And to knock it, you simply need steep high ground and go to town with your tranqs. Happy taming!

Idk why people are saying that this creature is worse than Rex. It has better speed, and faster attack than Rex's. Mine is level 230 and it killed level 100 alpha rex with 45000 health with only losing half of its health. (Sorry for my bad English)

How I got mine:

Get a pteranodon

Check for other creatures nearby

Land on a really tall, unclimbable rock

Go ham with any tranquilising weapon

Feed much narcotic

Kill stuff for meat and prime

There you go sir, 1 spino free of charge

If you guys want cheap traps, I recommend a Youtuber named Captain Fatdog. He has done traps on all sorts of creatures, including the Spino, and they work really well.

Mine got brutally murdered by a Cnidaria this is why jellyfish should be extinct

So, I’m level forty in the new game I just started, and I found a lvl 145 by my base and knew I needed to tame it. I used six stone Dino gates and got it trapped by leading it on my lvl 125 pteranodon. The freaking spino kills my flyer and I presume to tranq it. Dododex says only 53 tranqs for a level 145, but it took me close to 65… no misses. My crossbow legit broke on the last shot. Being a low level, I couldn’t really get my hands on prime meat, so I’m camped out next to this spino with my trike, feeding it hundreds of biotoxin and narcs as it slowly eats the fish meat I got ahold of. I’ve got a long three and a half hours ahead.

If you try to tame a spino, get it stuck on like the surface because if you knock it out in the shallows in the river mostly megapiranas will attack you and the spino.

If you go on a beach for a stroll and see a weird huge ass reptile, just say you don't recognise the bodies on the water and go back to your base, trust me it's for the best

Be aware of Genesis' X-Spinos, like all "X-"Dinos, having significantly increased damage resist, resulting in way more tranq darts needed than stated above. If you're going to tame an X-Spino, take at least double the amount with you!

Plssss help! I am a noob just a lil thatch hit a low lvl parasuar and a low lvl turtle.as I was on an "expedition"""" 2 steps away from my hut I heard a terrible noise...I didn't know what it was a dillo? Mabey, a raptor? Mabey a compy? Hope so. But no..I remembered the brutal beast I saw with my dodo on my first day.he was back I quickly checked the wiki for the roar and boy oh boy was I sad when I had found it was a Spinosaurus. Plus help each and every night I hear it getting closer and closer. Pls help.
