The Spino, while dealing a ton of damage, can retreat if it is low on hp, and is very, very fast on land. I only know this from mobile, but it could be true for pc. This also applies for when it is high on torpor, which makes it more difficult to tame, but it is in fact doable, so long as it collapses before it lands in an aggro area/ body of water.

For mobile players, here’s what you gotta do.

A spino requires a bunch of narcotics while it’s knocked out, not to mention the amount of trank arrows you’re gonna need. So get to grinding some narcotics and tranks on your herb mount.

Next we have to think about food, I think cooked meat will be enough for your hunger, but for the spino, they prefer argy kibble (cooking pot: one water skin,mejoberries,fiber,citronal, prime meat jerky,argy egg). A level 280 spino took me 3 kibble to tame, despite Dodo dex telling me I needed 4. The easiest way to get kibble is to just get a cooking bench from the amber store. But if you don’t have amber, or you’re in early game and can’t get argy eggs, prime meat will work alright.

For the knocking out you will require a trap, even if you aren’t in early game, the spino starts running when it’s on low health/torpor running. And most of the times you won’t be able to catch up.4 Stone gateways placed like this

__. Should do the trick(might not be visible). Just make it so that one of the gates isn’t placed yet since the spino will actually need to walk INTO the trap first.

If you’re on single player just save it manually before attempting this since it might not work the first time.

If you’re on multiplayer, just set up a bunch of sleeping bags(or a bed) where your area is.

Get the spinos attention and start RUNNING this thing is super fast and unless your trap is really near or you have a flying mount, there is no way you’re outrunning it. Once it’s in the trap, make sure it agros on to it, you’ll know it does this when it turns its head to look at the trap and starts trying to hit it, quickly go behind it and place the gateway quickly.

Now for the knocking out part, crossbows and long necks work best but if you don’t have any of those you can use a bow, just make sure to have the materials to repair it.

Once it’s knocked out make sure you have all those narcotics you grinded for, because at the rate this think needs narcotics, it might as well be on the taming chart for #1 favorite food.

After that just wait a bit and BOOM, you have a new tame!

With its buff in water, agility, strength, if you see one, even if it’s a low rank, run…..

I recommend using a triceratops to farm narcoberries to keep it asleep

To knock it out make a wooden box made out of door thing without placing the doors,make a ramp made out of wood on whatever side you want,shoot it go over the ramp while it's following you go through the door thing and trap it

I recommend using crossbow and tranq arrows

Tutorial how to tame a low level spino:

1) find low lvl spino

2) Shoot it with tranq arrows

3) Now it starts running

4) Give up because it's hella faster than sonic the hedgehog

I think I hit it like 9 times with tranq arrows with crossboww it's level 8 so ye I have a strong a$$ tame

They are too much easy to tame I already tame it on lvl 27

1.use tranq arrow, and need of crossbow, you need only 20-40 tranq arrow

2. Find it, they are mostly along the river

3. Unconscious it, then use soothing balm and narcotics,biotoxin to handle it's torpor

4. Feed him raw prime meat or kibble to tame faster

5. Then name it.

I would say the easiest way to tame them is just put prime meat in the inventory and narcotics and force feed them narcotics so they stay asleep sincerely,

Step1:get a argy

Step2:get tranq darts and grappling hook

Step3:find wanted spino

Step4:fly argy directly above spino

Step5:hop off argy and shoot it with grappling hook,so your hanging in the air

Step6:ko the spino

Step7:land back down and feed taming food

Step8:enjoy your spino

How to tame a Spinosaurus easily:-

S1: To find a Spinosaurus, go to rivers (mainly the rivers near the Redwoods).

S2: Options:-

1 Clear out the area if you think anything could trouble you while taming it and if you have a quick mount, knock it out that way.

2 Or build atleast pillars which are 12-14 times higher and knock it out that way.

3 If both of them are risky, build 15-20 fence foundations and stone walls of atleast 3-4 times high and finally finish it with ramps and knock it out with that way.

S3: Knock it out with either tranquilizer darts and a long rifle or tranq arrows and a crossbow.

S4: Feed it Argentavis Kibble (Old ARK Mobile only), Exceptional Kibble, Raw prime fish meat or Raw fish meat.

S5: You have a Spinosaurus :D

Facts:-

F1: It's saddle unlocks on lvl 71.

F2: It is quite quick in water as well as land.

F3: It also has an untameable version in Extinction which is Corrupted Spinosaurus.

F4: When in water, it has a Hydrated buff which increases it's damage and resistance.

This is especially for new players. They will seem pretty quiet if they are far from the water, but if you see one next to or in the water, don’t try to pet it. They are VERY fast, especially in the water and they do A LOT of damages. I mean if you want you can try but then I hope you had a good life. If one is curious and come visit your base, if it is protected with even wooden spikes, it should be not a real problem ( except if you’re unlucky and it’s a high level one ). But don’t let your tames aggro it bcs they will probably die ( especially new player tames, who has low or mid health ). I mean everything under 400hp will probably die. Above 400hp it is pretty safe but yeah, don’t play with fire. If your base is not protected, well then you’re coocked and it’s time to build a new protected base.

They spawn in water when all the fish in the area have been killed

These guys are rlly hard to KO without a trap because they LIGIT will not stay on a single target. If they see something that they will Argo on they will turn around no questions asked, which is kinda rlly annoying when you’re tryna knock ‘em out.

Their coloration tends to resemble where they spawn, for example if it spawns in the river outside the snow zone it’s gonna be white, if it spawns in the redwoods it’s gonna be red, if it spawns in a rocky area it’s gonna be grey, if it spawns near a beach it’s gonna be orange or yellow, etc, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a specific colour… this can also make them hard to spot from a distance if you’re not specifically looking for them though the sail can sometimes give them away as it doesn’t always follow this rule

Spinos are a great tame but in the wild they are very dangerous. If u hit them they go crazy and attack u and everything else and they are very fast and deal lots of damage

Got my first spino pretty easy with my heart pounding after witnessing the havoc it can wreck..I laid a couple of large bear traps and lured it into them the shot it with tranq darts...and fed it with narcotics and fish meat..I am currently terrorizing my area with the spino and two baryonyx

When I was looking for a Spinosaurus I found like three or four

It totally did not kill all my animals
