How to ride a Spino and move it without using a saddle. step one: tame a Spino. Step two: get above it somehow. Step three: jump on it. Step four: preferably get on its head or neck. Step five: face wherever you want to move. Step six: press comma, the dinosaur will then move to the green arrow that will appear. This will work on other Dino’s too.

Well I had to kill one of lvl 95 using my lvl 140 trike on the way back to my base

I mean it was not that difficult , the trike has knockback on attack and I was on a high ground with a slope to my advantage so just spammed attack to kill it.

But yeah I lured it out of water

I tamed a lvl 230 spino and the way I did it was I got it stuck between two rocks and a tree, I could just sit there and shoot it and it couldn’t touch me.

I find that raw meat stays good longer in a spinous inventory, this is very good for storing prime

Spino is probably one of the best for Alpha killing. It’s very versatile in its movement, swimming fast and using the water buff to run fast. It can also hit fast and hard enough in the bipedal stance that it can knock back even alpha rexes. I’ve killed a lvl 280 alpha Rex without taking any damage by just spamming my mouse. Spino OP

How to tame a Spino

1: Gather loads of meat and fish meat

2: If you’re trying to tame a low level spino, make at least 30 tranq arrows. If you’re taming a stronger one make at least 100 (just in case). You can use the cross bow. If you don’t have one you can make a few normal bows

3: Make loads of narcotic. At least 50. Also make bronto egg kibble

3: find the spino you want to tame

4: shoot it

5: put the narcotic and meat or kibble in its inventory and wait

You have a spino :D

Don't recommend doing the 10 pillar/ladder trick, the spino will likely just run away. Instead build a pen that is at least 3x3 stone with all windows and at LEAST 4 high, otherwise the spino will just walk right over them. Easy enough to tame in a 3x3x4 stone box, just don't stand too close cause the attacks will reach outside of the pen.

Just finished an hour long hunt for a lvl 150 aberrant Spino in the Valguero ab trench. Pro tip, kill every karkinos first. And probably every other spino too. Also, don’t do what I did and forget that they eat fish. He dropped 1/4 of his torpor bar before I remembered. Luckily there were ab salmon in the river there and with an apprentice chainsaw I was able to get enough prime fish meat to tame him up before he woke up angry. He’s level 219 now after taking with 92.2% effectiveness only because I accidentally loosed one extra tranq arrow after he fell. He is called Sigurd.

By far my favourite carnivore for its speed and strength if you do it right it can kill a giga

The trap I used for it was 3x3 stone foundation, then doorways all around the trap, two walls high. Then you place a ramp and lead it in, it worked perfectly for me.

Make sure to keep a distance, so that if you run into at least 2, try to get a picture before they try to get you.

Mutton tames in 3 1/2 hours not 6

Dododex say's 34 Mutton for a 145 Spino on 2x, on Aberration. But in reality its 42 tested it and it's about 8 Mutton more than it say's.

Spinosaurus are excellent fishermen. They are like and all Terran vehicle. They can cover alot of open ground and a good bit of water. Not recommended for deep ocean exploits as jelly fish wil sting and stun them , they'll drown in the time it takes to wake up. They're good at clearing a path for a base and can carry alot like a T-Rex. Good at harvesting prime regular and fish meat and trophies for the obelisk.

Get stamina in deep water

If you encounter one and your like level 10 or 20 sorry bro say goodbye to all your hard work because you have been eaten😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

HOW TO TAME WITHOUT TRAPS

Material: Biotoxins (or narcotics), Tranqs, Prime fish meat, Rifle / Crossbow

1) Find the spinosaurus you want

2) Get it to an area with LOTS of wildlife. They are pretty tarded and get distracted easily. NOTE: they are VERY fast, so be quick

3) Harass it with tranqs (at least 20-30) until it’s out.

4) Shove prime fish meat down it’s throat and keep it down with narcs or biotoxins ( reccommend biotoxins )

5) Defend the spino. If on mobile, use soothing balm.

6) Profit

Taming a spino is surprisingly easy! In my world I am around level 55. I just tamed one of these beasts to have so protection from big creatures if needed because I want to adventure away from home farther. I found my spino in a river in south zone 2 or. All I did was have a bunch of tranq arrows (31) and I went up on a cliff and shot down at it. This worked pretty well just make sure the bottom of the cliff is land not water. Then you can tranq it out until unconscious. Then make sure to put raw fish meat in its inventory (raw meat goes three times slower). And after that it’s actually a pretty quick tame! I have a level 2 so it was easier to tranq out but I will level him up until I can get the saddle at level 71!
