With greater agility and a quicker bite the spino is a better choice for meat runs than the Rex as it yields a higher DPS. Also great to use in the water which helps with the beaver dam farming

You want to tame a fish eating machine?Well who am I kidding you probably are!

First,we need to know what we're dealing with here.

This is a super predator that eats fish.It gets a health regen,speed and damage buff when it reaches the water mid way through the body.

Here's what you need to bring:

To Knock it out

A crossbow/longneck rifle (tranqs)

To tame it

To tame this bad boy you're gonna need fish meat because it semi-aquatic.Use prime fish meat over normal fish meat because y'k it's prime(you can get it from megs or using a sickle to harvest it from normal fishys)

To keep it asleep

Bio toxin/Nacrotics or Nacroberries for a low level

To trap it

You can use the 4 dino gates and bear traps method

Or the 16 ramps,16 floors and 40 door ways to trap it

But I'll use the 4 dino gates since it's easier

Now onto taming

To tame this beast you have to be brave and maybe have a tame to sacrifice (rip big bird)

Locate your desired spino usually they spawn near swamps,south zones,beaches(I only know the Island spawns)

They also share spawns with fishes so kill all the fish in the area and go out of render there might be 1-2 spinos

Build your trap and shoot the spino to agro it.You should now have it trapped now shoot it till it falls asleep.Put the fish meat in and it should be taming.It's torpor drains 1/3 of the giga so be sure to check on it and feed it narcotics to keep it asleep!

Now it should be yours.You can name it whatever you want!

Hey, ok so the center, coordinates 08.1 / 63.4 spinos will spawn there, if is not high enough just kill it, leave the area and come back after 3 mins. Normally works, I found a 150 and I'm taming it rn

Spinos are not only my favorite dinosaur irl, but they are my favorite mount in the game. They are agile for their size, deal tons of damage (especially when bipedal), and are so fast. If your Spino just stand in a puddle of water, it will get the hydration buff, which increases its damage by 15 percent, movement speed by 20 percent, and health regeneration by 25 percent. In the wild, they are extremely dangerous, aggroing on almost everything. However, when low on health, they will run away from a fight as a last-ditch effort to survive. Overall, even though there are faster creatures (Direwolf), creatures with more health or damage (Rex or Giga) and better creatures for diving the ocean depths (Tuso), they are the most well rounded creature to have - especially when mutated. My mutated Spino only has one useful mutation, a health mutation, but I pumped his damage so high, he is dealing over 1500 damage. I highly recommend the Spino to every survivor. It is so worth it.

They are super strong in spider boss fight because the spider fight has water that give spino super high buff to kill her

Don’t mess with this unless you gonna tame it, it has high damage enough speed so you don’t get away and in the worst case a waterbuff

Which makes him do more damage and he never runs out of stamina cuz it recovers faster than it consumes it with waterbuff

Are you considering taming a fish-eating apex predator of the amphibious (but mostly land) variety? Who am I kidding, you probably are! But for starters; in this tip is what I would recommend bringing or using! You, however can tame this beast in whatever way you think will work! However it’s also good to know what your getting into, now let’s get started! Let’s start with supplies!; Since we are dealing with a apex predator, Be sure to consider packing flak armor sets! As this is the best, cheapest armor to make! Next on the shopping list is the narcotics! When taming this beast it’s best to know that it’s torpor goes down exeedingly quick so I would suggest about 100 / 200 biotoxin to keep it asleep, next be sure to pack taming supplies! I would suggest packing kibble, It likes superior kibble I’m pretty sure, (be sure to check as I might be wrong!) if you don’t have access to kibble, the next step down will be prime fish meat! Also i suggest bringing a fast flying tame, why? For its size, do NOT underestimate its speed, it uses it to eithor run you down or, in this case run away! Now there is two stances the spinosaurus will use! The primary stance it most commonly uses

Is it’s quad-pedal stance, it will stand on all 4s and grants it with a very quick way of getting somewhere, it’s downside is it’s maneuverability to turn! It’s other stance is Bi-pedal, this stance is used primarily by the spino for a damage boost and maneuvering, it’s downside however is it moves way slower than quad pedal, quad pedal doesn’t do nearly as much damage as bipedal! I suggest using bear traps, as the net gun won’t bring this apex predator down, (chain bolas work too!) also consider bringing about 100 tranq arrows or more cut that in half will be the amount of darts you will need,! Taming is similar to that of the most renowned apex predator of the ark commonly known as the giganotasaurus! The spinos torpor goes down half of a 1/3s of that of a gigas! Taming might take a while depending on what you are useing! You now have yourself the fish eating apex predator known as the spino! A very quick and great battle mount in diffrent stances! Also makes a decent bossbattle creature! Hope this helped, and as always happy taming, and take care! :D

How to tame a spino

First you have to be level 30 or above as that is the minimum requirement in my opinion

If u dont wanna spend like 50 hours crafting stone Dino gates then u have to use a high stamina flying tame and go look for a spino underneath a ledge or tall rock, firstly you need to check dododex for the amount of tranqs needed, (use crossbow, bows rlly aren’t for spino and it will take u a lot of time ) after you know the tranqs you need, hit the spino and then test if it can reach u if it can’t tranq it down, if it can find new ledge

The chances of you outrunning a spino are near to zero as they are VERY fast especially being a semi aquatic water animal and being absolutely massive compared to most of arks creatures. After u hit it a couple times it is gonna start running, tip: spino are rlly fast so you have to be prepared to either bolt for it or get on your tame the second it runs, (these things are really fast no cap) either they might get stuck or if u are prepared you can place Dino gates or something behind it on the forehand so when it runs it gets stuck (keep in mind it’s not certain it’s gonna run there)

After it’s knocked out go to a river and get a bunch of fish meat or raw prime fish meat, check dododex as if u use raw meat u’ll miss out on a good opportunity to get levels from the taming efficiently if u were to use fish meat (they prefer fish meat since they swim)

They have decently fast torpor so guard it kill animals that get atleast within 10 meters, a spino is big so it’s hitbox is rlly big and u’ll need to guard it, keep feeding it narcoberries or narcotics, depends on level of level 1-5 u can use narcoberries, besides that boom u now have a tamed spino (location underneath this paragraph sorry for the long writing :) 👇

They can spawn in the southern islets sometimes it depends usually near rivers or oceans that are near swamps or sometimes even in small streams next to big beaches and ledges, they can be around rexes and brontoes and allosaurus so be careful when u locate your spino, if u want a reallly high level then u need to be very prepared obviously but yea that’s all

(If u still can’t find a spino then check water locations, next to water or in a forest anything like a beach or forest or stuff near water they will be in, they spawn all around the map , besides the Antarctic place they spawn everywhere,).

You can easily take out an alpha rex with the spino. Just lure the rex into the ocean and go to town on it.

How to tame a spinosaurus: 1. Get a flying mount like a Pteranodon. 2.get a bow and tranq 20 arrows . 3. Find spino. 4. Shoot . 5. Cry in self pity because your lvl 45 and you need lvl 71 for its saddle.Thanks for reading!

When in water, the spino can move without using stamina, this means that in a fight, if you run into a deep water source, you don't need to worry about stamina if you need to retreat. Has an oxygen bar so you can't dive forever sadly, very fast in water though.

Once tried to tame one for my bf while he was offline bc he wanted one. Flew with my Pterra and shot it full of 20!!!!! tranq arrows . Didn’t even flinch. I got too cocky and went too close to the edge of the cliff i was standing on. I fell off RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SPINO. it’s health was low enough that it started to run away. Without looking back, i whistled for my Pterra to follow and ran for my life. currently trying to get another one :( wish me luck!

To be honest, I feel like the spino SHOULD be better than the Rex. Heard these were nerfed in ASA. I’m glad I play mobile, cause it would be sad if my spino couldn’t kill a Rex like I do a plate of well cooked steak. Peace ya’ll. I vote keep spinos up there. 👆

Beware at least one spino ALWAYS spawns dangerously close if you pick south zone 3
