The best place to tame these guys is a trench right by green oby, its at 61 lat 50 long. The trench makes it so they can only go certain directions and there's no brush or trees

Make sure to crouch and not run when close to it.

You can access the sinomas inventory through a radial wheel without dropping him.

Sinomacrops can be thrown from player to player by looking at them and using the throw option.

Sinomacrops cuts weight of everything by 3\4, so 100 = 25 on your back.

They can fly up, glide, and parachute.

Double jump is a quick burst upwards.

They help you quickly ascend in water.

Can wear helmets for extra protection.

Has an auto scream function that kills insects.

Only eats chitin!

Wild ones also attack tames wearing chitin saddles.

Go to the swamps in lost island

Using a pt fly over till you spot a sino

Leave your pt and go to the sino

Stay in place while crouching an fit will come to you

When it lands near you don't sprint or it will be scared

Walk and feef it chiten

Boom you basically gave a Tek chest plate

Crouch within 60-50m from it, when it reaches 19m it will have hearts to you, have the chitin in the last slot for it then feed it with your corresponding button or key, it will eat it, fly up and fly away, you can chase it, just chase it while crouched unless it's 60+ meters away, then repeat

These guys are so cute and I heard they glide so I would say it is a pretty useful for beginners and travelling around the map, chitin is kinda common because of bugs and them being almost everywhere this guy sounds like it’s early game. And I find it funny that it will attack you if u have chitin armour. Imagine you just walking around exploring the map and then this little guy starts attacking you. I love the idea of this creature and I can’t wait for lost island to come out :D

There supposed to be a passive tame probity with chitin

If you didn’t already know, shoulder pets reduce weight. This thing, is great for it(And is absolutely adorable). You find these on the Lost Island. The mutations might look great. Up for agreement.👍🏻

I know this has probably been said but…

50% weight reduction on anything in their inventory

Its also a shoulder mount so the weight gets halved again in your inventory

In conclusion 75% WEIGHT REDUCTION ON ALL ITEMS

They are scared of your tames. So leave your mount behind. It took me a painfully long time to learn this, even though it was on the wiki.

It’s good if your high up and need to get down so you should try getting one when it comes out. 😉

Sooooooooo basically everyone finds low levels and they don’t care and neither do I buuuuttttt my first one so happened to be a 150 and he’s still alive to this day and I’m on day 13 or 14 he’s insanely good too also don’t where chitin armour in the jungle they target that piece of armour and that piece only they have a fly ability glide ability and if you double press the jump button your guy can basically jump higher into the air so if you want one go to lost island the only place you can find them and tame one if you want one to transfer they are great for getting out of tricky situations maybe transfer to aberration if they have radiation immunity that would be op have fun with your new cheap but sometimes better poor man’s tek chest piece

To tame get one out to the water if possible then follow it with a raft bc they can only land if on your raft like if this helped

Trapping it in a cage doesn’t work it will tell you “must be out of cage to tame” if you leave it in a cage it will just try to fly away it won’t land

Why is wildcard obsessed with flying squirrels, first maewing, now this

Just so u know they deal increased damage to chitinous creatures such as spiders, scorpions, arthros, and mantis

A thyla ripped my little sister of her mount and killed her sinomacrops. She went on a tirade and killed every thyla in the redwoods, and when she was happy with the lack of thylacleos in the redwoods. She moved on to the desert.

Point is it’s addictively cute.

Since caging and the stranding torch trap doesnt work anymore, here's a Suggestion how i tamed quite a few of them:

As someone already mentioned above the best Spot to find and tame them is at about 20/35 - 20/50.

Make sure you bring around one piece of chitin armor and a raft.

As soon as you get to see one place your raft, put on your chitin armor and let it aggro you. Jump on the raft and lure it away from the Coast (this way you can spot and track it far easier and it can see you better as well!!). Now take of your piece of chitin armor and wait for it to calm down.

When it calmed down, get your raft near it and place yourself in a corner of the raft. As soon as it got the hearts it will Land on your raft and let you feed it. Rinse and repeat.
