Tips & Strategies

What are tips for sinomacrops? Tips and strategies for sinomacrops in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Don’t try to tame wearing ghille. I know, not chitin either, but I’ve found in ghille they won’t be able to find you to come back to you between feeds. I tried to tame a dozen and they would starve and lose taming progress while I waited and tried to get them to come back to be fed. Took ghille off and my next attempt worked perfectly. No ghille!
Tamed two 145s at 57 - 51.
Was able to stand still until about 80% and then followed them in the 100-50% range from there.
Baby Sino eats Chitin just like the adults. Make sure it is in your nanny inventory or add it to the baby yourself. Nanny will try to give mammal milk or spoiled milk if in her inventory. Those will not work. Mammal milk only works if force fed.
When taming, stay about 50 meters away at all times until you see it fly towards you. Stay still and wait until it hops near you to feed it.
To tame, use a wooden cage and stand inside of it. They will come to you. Once inside, close the door and passive tame with Chitin in your last slot. It will not fly away and it still counts as being outdoors.
You can lead them into a cage what is by far the best way to tame them - will likely get patched!
For PC: Pick up with -e- so it sits on your shoulder. Hold -space- to flap its wings to fly, press -c- while in the air to glide (look around with mouse, steer with -a- and -d-, hold -shift- and press -s- to ‘dive-bomb’ and gain speed, press -x- to enable ‘parachute’ mode and float safely down to the ground!
Hold -r- when it’s on your shoulder to access its inventory. You should also enable ‘auto scream’ and ‘auto scream only when aggrod’, so it may scare away smaller threats such as dilos, pegos etc.
I would say this is the most useful tame in ark. As it allows tool/weapon wielding flight as a pssive abillity, gives extra carry capacity on your person and makes all knockout in the game do-able solo with little effort.
Correct me if you have other opinions.
And have a blessed day🤙
There's a ton of these guys in the desert around 90, 80.
It’s a very fast tame (some times )—
Dessert bio at the bottom of the map near tree and you will probably find them
Walk up to it till you see hearts, then crouch and let it land in front of you, then you just passive feed chitin
Feed it chitin and it will fly away chase it down ot will come back to you and repeat the process p.s. stay still on the second feeding if u dont it will run away and you will have to chase it down again
Chitin is the best way to tame them I think
