My favorite early game tame. These are fast and can talk down a trike at high level.

Just bola then and feed them meat.

Also they come in packs sometimes so tame both because they get boosted in packs

Like a mini version of Thyla and the cousin to dire wolf. Saber tooth’s are fast and deals lots of damage. Very useful for the cave divings. Using bolas on these would work very well. Works well from early-mid games. VERY VERSATILE

Try Traq Darts. They have very low health, so be conscious of that and use tranq darts OR monitor health while using arrows with a Magnifying glass to ensure you dont kill it. Alittle prime meat, and they are tamed quickly! Good for any cave you cant fit a Thylo!

If the question ‘which is better dire wolf or sabertooth’ comes in mind, as amazing the saber tooth is by appearances, It’s honestly outclassed by the Dire Wolf.

Have 2 people. One person carry the sabertooth with the argy or if you want, quetz/wyvern. The other person tranqs it. The saber will stay still, allowing head shots with the right positions, both saber and the shooter. The saber will fall from the from being carried to the ground when unconscious. This way, you can tame the sabertooth in your base or where ever you want/need.

They are really easy to hit in tame

If you need hide , pelt , or chitin, then this is the animal to pick . Speed is decent and they are perfect for caves . Sabers don't fit in all caves so be careful . Plus they are super cute when they are babies !

Taming a lvl 120 saber or above takes time but it helps kill many different dinos just get its health up to at least 3000 and if it's not already get damage up to 200. You will love it.... until game lags and u can't get back on until the next day and it dies

Had to go all the way to Dead Island (Island Map) to find a female that I could single out and tame. These guys are kinda dumb in the wild just like raptors lol. They’ll take on anything even much bigger than them and die. So hard to find them when you’re looking but easy when you’re not.

Very useful, mainly for hunting. Only thing is weight...

I raise a baby sabertooth it was fun someone in my server didn't want it so I raise him now 3,000 health an 300 bite lvl 200 Ian very happy I got him an he still level in up.

I recommend using tranq arrows to knock yourself and don't aim for the head or else you will might kill it if it's a very low level be careful for wolves too

I play on mobile. Stat lv up after tame is Hp 12,14%, Sta 10%, Oxy 10%, Wg 4%, MA 4%, Spd 3%. Very good for collecting chitin and hide, and a good fighter for both land and underwater. Swim like bary. Good for cave too. Hope it can cause bleeding with it's attack, i mean it's a sabertooth right? Just my opinion.

Try getting the high ground for a more efficient Tame.

They need an upgrade. Imagine your pet cat, but it weighs a thousand pounds. You want it to do kitty things but on an a thousand pounds kitty scale. Maybe weaker than a thyla, but it should be similar. They’re cats, after all.
