In relation to Dire Wolves, yes they lack a pack bonus and have no ability other than attack, yet they have a saddle which give these beasts ARMOR. This is where they outclass a Dire Wolf 1vs1.

Overall early to mid-game tame. Can be frozen in place with a bola and tranqued on foot, just watch out for the rest of its pride.

While not incredibly strong, super usefull on maps like the island. Collects far more chittin than most other creatures and fits trough most cave entrances. Also they look cool.

I was playing ragnarok and had a good base and easy access to good resources ( i was in viking bay 1) but there were 2 sabers (39, 40) and they were a pain. I finally get a plan to tame 1 (or both) of them, then genesis 2 comes out and I go to ragnarok again and... It deleted EVERYTHING! My player, my base, everything. But the sabers were gone too. I know am on my 2nd ragnarok world and have 3 paras 5 dodos ( one is my sisters) and a dilo... but now the creatures haunting me are 2 icthyornis`.😭

Anyone agrees that mobile devs should give these things an update?

Right now these things are completely outperformed by wolves. They have lower health, slightly lower damage, and lower attack speed than wolves. They also don’t have a pack/howl buff. Sabertooths have saddles but wolves don’t, this offset the lower stats on pc, but on mobile, you can put helmets on wolves, and even an ascendent hide helmet provides much better protection than a primitive saddle. The two are almost just as good as each other at collecting hide/chitin/keratin. The only reason why I would use a sabertooth is that they are more common and a bit easier to tame. However, in all of my saves I ended up killing my sabertooth after getting a few good wolves.

I think they could make sabertooth have a significant weight reduction for pelt cuz no creature has that right now and pelt is a pain in the back side to farm.

It can gather chitin quite well and if you can get a good saddle and good stat sabertooth you can do some of the caves

I use sabertooth to havest hide and chitin

The best way to tame this is to put it in a taming pin, therefor you can shoot it without it attacking you.

All these KO stats are wrong it takes 2 tranq darts at the head sort the tranq system out please many a times I have used this app to tranq sabres and wolves and they die because arrows are too strong

Very easy to knock out. Wear decent armour. Stand with back to wall and just shoot for a bit. They have low health so becareful. I use taming raft to drag them on and drive away. Or go to volcano in middle there is usually two there. Easily tamed there. Dont take mhch narcotics to keep them sleeping.

If u want a Sabertooth, don't go on mountains, just go to Dead Island. Set up a small base in the small island next to Dead Island(The one where nothing spawns). Craft some bolas. Best to take a flying mount. Then come on ground, agro the saber, Bola it. Now hit it once in its head with a tranq arrow, then wait and then shoot another tranq. On its body. Then shoot another on its hips. Be sure to make intervals of few secs. Once it's knocked, go and try to get some Prime Meat. Wait for the Sabertooth's Hunger bar to get less than 900. Then just shove those prime meat in its inventory. And boom. It gets tamed fast. Because it was hungry, it ate the meat faster.
