Idiots idiots idiots you don’t need a trap just need a high-ish rock or something like that and a bow, crossbow, or some other thing that can shoot tranq stuff knock the Rex out feed regular meet or if you have any of the other stuff feed it that you don’t need as much narcotics and Dododex says btw you only need to feed narcotics once the consciousness is really low so you use less for my level 2 (which I had first thought was 26 bc it looked like the 26 had been in the place the 26 was and I had come for the 26) I only used 1 narcotic and I didn’t even really need to use it it just made me feel better and less nervous when I used it.

Resource intensive but easy and flexible trap to tame any (and many) rex:

1) Get a wooden raft

2) Place stone foundations 3 by 3 to make your raft indestructible by rexes (look up dropped raft foundation on utube to get the 3x3, it takes 10 seconds). You can also use a hatch frame over the rudder to still drive.

3) Fill in all sides with empty stone doorframes 2 high

4) Add wood ramps up the front of the boat so the rex can walk over to get in

5) Park the boat anywhere near rexes, lure your favorite into the trap and tranq through the open walls from safety, the rex can’t get out

Now you have an easy and mobile rex trap that works for plenty of other dinos too :) I’m not sure if you can drive around with the rex while it’s unconscious, but you can always build a couple spike walls to keep other dinos away. Enjoy my favorite trap in Ark and have fun with free rexes!

Use a fast flyer ( wywren,snow owl,Griffin......) Then go in large circles while every bit stoping, shooting and realising till he's out. Then kill a stego or two to get enough RAW prime

I would usually build a trap using behemoth gates and than tranq it out with tranquilizer darts or shocking darts

Pretty simple tame just use your ordinary stone pitfall trap. You’ll need about 75 tranqs for a 150. They don’t take headshots so don’t bother with them. You’ll need rex’s For the boss fights on the island especially.

Always tame your rexes on the outer parts of Carno Island. Lure one without attracting anything else, then bear trap it, I sent a buttload of tranqs into its face. It can’t run because it’s in the bear trap. (MOBILE) (THE ISLAND MAP)

These things are slow as heck, just run and shoot it and your good. Just make sure you do run into anything that will kill you or your Rex.

How many tranquilizer darts will it take to knock it out

Easy just get the high ground then use around 40 (tranq) arrows or around 18 toxicant arrows then feed it raw or prime meat when its unconscious

You need a stone trap make it of foundations , door frames and ramps btw it is better on a raft because you can travel with it

50 toxicant arrows and high ground will knock them out and adding soothing balm and plenty of meat add 10x your taming speed I got an easy tame with a level 7 it’s health was at 450 out of 1100 so to easy in my opinion but cool Dino

To all of the ark newbies out there, YOU CAN TAME THIS ONE YOU HAVE CROSSBOWS AND TRANQ ARROWS!!! Since rexs are slow, you can run a good distance and bombard tranq arrows to its face. Feel like you want more of a challenge? Use it’s big Turning radius, it’s large enough for you to stay near its leg and not get bit, and it’s small enough to stay near its leg and not get bit. I knocked out a lvl 80 only using a crossbow and a lvl 10 pteranodon. If you are going to tame one, BRING TRANQ ARROWS! This thing takes a lot of tranqs to knock out and you can miss your shots (unless you have aimbot). Happy taming!

Stand on a cliff and shoot the Rec with Tranqs. You'll need a flyer though.

Craft about 20-25 stone pillars and ladders to go with it. Once you find a Rex go to a nearby safe location then Boulder a tower of pillars then add ladders. Use a flying mount with good stats (like argent) to lure the Rex to the pillars then hop on to the pillars and knock it out. You can also use a very high leveled quetz instead of pillars but you need tons of stamina and HP.

It should have very low torpardity

get on a cliff with your flyer and shoot him. they are terrible at running, just make sure there aren’t any more rexs around.

Unless i got lucky, taming isnt that hard.

Me (with a normal crossbow and tranq arrows) and my level 7 baryonyx knocked one out pretty easily.

Have tribemate pick you up with griffin claws, have home fly you above the Rex while you shoot it with shocking tranq darts, ez clap. Kill all other threats in the area then put your food on the Rex and have saddle ready to go.
