Tamed my first today. Wasn’t even that hard. I found a good level in the snow. I was going to make a trap, but I didn’t want to waste time, so I distracted it by dropping a deer from my argent while I tranqed it out from a rock with my apprentice longneck and normal darts. After not so long, it was down. Just surrounded it with wooden spikes and tamed it ( I had 10x soothing balm on mobile btw). Had to kill another Rex, but my argent did that like a g. After that, I took it home and named it slayer. Hoped I helped anyone.

You need to build 2x2 trap from stone then put wooden ramps on one side and get the rex in the trap Mele sure he can't get out and you can knock him using Thanq arrows or darts good luck

Fr tho... The cheapest but most dangerous way of taming a Rex is to find a high level tame that you can access your weapons from. I use Thylacoleos and level up their health and stamina so that I can get the Rex to chase me while maintaining a safe distance and get a couple shots in and run do it until he begins to run away from me. Another more expensive way is to make a trap(which you probably know about) but create either a metal or stone trap of 3x3 to 4x4 foundations and doorways about 3-4 levels tall around the edges. Then place ramps on one end for the dinosaur to be able to run in. Get a flier with good health and lure the dino into the trap. This works on most of all the big dinos from Thylacoleos to even a Giga(if you tame the giga in this trap be sure to use metal bc they cam damage stong and shred your guys face). Its an expensive build, but it works for raising eggs, and taming ;). Also be sure to know if the dino cant damage it or escape from the doorframe

Today I knocked out a lvl 45 rex. DodoDex said it would take me about 40 tranq arrows from a crossbow. I shot about 15 arrows and it started running. 5 more shots and it was down. DodoDex said it would take 40 shots. I shot him 20 times and it went down?? Does it have any head multipliers cuz DodoDex says it doesn’t have any...

I would reccomend you bring 80 to 100 tranq darts depending on its level everybody misses shots sometimes.

Bring a low level bronto to tank hits

I like building an argy trap to tame these, just get 5 behemoth gateways and two doors, line them up on the mountain with gaps in between so u can run out as it chase u in, one problem is u need a tribe mate on the other side so they can close the gate as u lead it in. another problem is u need a flat surface to build it on or else there’s a giant gap at the bottom where other creatures can get in and try to interrupt u, or even the red can glitch out, so make sure u have a fast and powerful mount so u can chase off any unwanted guests or incase it gets loose. GOOD LUCK!

Quetzal bombing- the act of riding a quetzal into the air then standing on its back and tranqing a Rex. (or annoying beast) use this to your advantage!

Their a easy tame of you have round about 130 movmentspeed you can easily hit them in their had and run away

You can just tame it with 2 Stone Gateways. Just place one and lure it in. While he is stuck in that gateway place the other one somewhere between his arms and his legs. Now he cant get out.

Just so you know use dotame not forcetame for dotame acts as if you actually tamed it and can't ride it right away

Honestly, I thought they’d be harder to tame! In solo mode I just used tranq darts, ran, shot, ran, and repeat. Easier than I thought! Just make sure you stay with them though. They take a while to tame and will need to be protected. I killed 6 raptors, 4 carnos, and a couple scorpions while waiting

I tamed one today with this strategy! You only need some stone pillars and that’s all!

So firstly I placed the pillars in a line with a little gap just so I could shoot through. Then I placed more pillars so it made a box with one side open like a U shape .

Secondly I hit the Rex once and it aggroed on me while I ran and trapped the Rex into my cage. It didn’t turn around but instead tried to break the cage (So I didn’t close the cage) . Then I shot normal arrows onto it because I didn’t have any tranq.

After a while it should turn around and run away. I followed it and wacked it with my bat for around 15 seconds and it became unconscious.

Finally I tamed it in around 15 minutes with only 10 dizzying potion (I forgot what it’s called but it’s the one which heals you and makes you unconscious)

And that’s how you take a Rex with a very low level! You don’t even need tranq arrows! I hope this works for you I took 8 minutes writing this so I will appreciate the upvote!

Easiest way: using stone build a 1×1 bunker 2 floors high. Second floor walls should be all windows. Once you've done this, lead the rex to you, get inside and crouch. Now just tranq the hell out of it shooting out the windows.

Get of a Ptera, get the rex to aggro on you, find a cliff, and shoot down at it with tranq darts until KO. Keep an eye out for any raptors or other little dweebs that'll knockdown the efficiency.

if you are fast enough, you can actually just run shot run shot the rex (tested this on low lvls and always worked)

Using your pelagornis fly to a safe distance and land then run up on it using a crossbow and tranq darts while you're back peddling hit it with darts jump on pelagornis and repeat

If you find one near a mountain get on the mountain and it will just look at you (it might try to climb up if it’s a small mountain/Hill ) then just shoot it in the face with dart tranq arrows etc ( just be careful of other dinos that may be on that hill or maintain with you )

On carnivore island on the island it gets stuck pretty easily. Easy to lead into trees to get it stuck just make it follow you to the tree area. I hit it twice with Tranq arrows then went in with my frog and used its topor attack easy tame. The hard part was protecting the tame for the time nessesary to tame it.

If taming on the redwood mountain, use the trap method it saves you sooo much stress as it stops the rex from nearly eating you when you get stuck on a boulder and then running away right near to a thyla.
