No trap required. Get a fast mount that you can shoot from while riding it, like a raptor or baryonyx, tranq it while kiting, let it flee to a safe area before dropping it, then secure the area. Starve taming works best.

Rex is slow so don't waste hours making a trap. Land shoot with darts and fly a little farther. Then just get prime meat unless you can't stand 5 minute difference between prime and kibble

I don't know why people say ad foundations or something I do it with just a crossbow with trauqs and shoot of a tall rock or near by cliff but I suggest the cliff because it could climb up the rock and kill the heck out of you and also I littery have 4 of this bios!

At level 35 I tamed a level 2 Rex it took about 12 tranq arrows and about 5 prime meat to tame. I was quite shocked to find I didn’t really need any narcotics. Good luck!

If you have a tapejara tamed with good weight around 800-1000 and decent stamina anything above 1000; then taming a T-Rex is super easy. Just choose a designated flyer and have 2 friends shoot at the T-Rex from above.

Just run with a crossbow or a longneck with tranqs there slow so if you have some levels into speed you can easily outrun them.

I got mine named it blurk cause he was blue and if you want tips get him to munch on some brachis and knockout from afar

Honestly to tame a Rex it’s pretty easy for me at least I did the lazy method which was to find a hill or mountain and just knock them out from there with either tranq arrows or tranq darts don’t matter just get alot of them just in case. And if you have a hard time finding Rex’s go near mountains or near the shores that’s where I mostly find mine or one other spot is near the volcano where you can find them

Best way I've found is tranq arrows + crossbow + Griffin and hover just high enough to where it can't get you and be in a place without alot of other creatures. It'll stay below you and you can shoot "through" the Griffin down at it until it starts to run. Then just switch between flying and shooting.

Is you have the materials to make a large bear trap, taming pen, and longneck rifle with darts just lure it with a flyer and use prime meat or kibble for an effective tame i got a level 50 today on the mountain. I hope you found this helpfulGood luck!

To tame one of these when you are not on a high level, just stand on a cliff or some place they can’t get you then shoot tranq arrows at it or tranq dart or anything that involves tranq then after it has been knocked out go down there get any type of meat and a few narco berries, wait, then you got a pet Rex (:

Everyone says: do IT in a mountain. But you have to look out tgat the rex cant climb up. They are good climbers and have a large hitbox. I've lost my saber who couldnt climbe because het was too small and died to the rex, (i followed him a couple seconds later)

A level 15 and below you can simply just shoot and run from then tame it this is a great tactic if you are early game.

25 fence foundations, 30 door frames(all stone,) one behe and one behe door. Aet trap walk rex in. Shoot at your leisure. Tame is fast on evo weekends(x2) with mutton. And all I do for that is knock rex out and build a small 22x1 with walls out of thatch and go get an ovis from highlands(rag) or wherever they spawn on your map. Bring it back. Drop in pin. And play the waiting game. I use a chainsaw for harvesting(you get a lot that way)

6 pillars on top of each other. 6 ladders to get on top. Rex will aggro but won’t break pillars so just shoot tranqs from safety of the pillars. Should be easy tame for low level rex if you got the prime meat.

Just tamed one with a crossbow, a rock, a flier, tranq arrows, minor balm, (towards the end) and normal raw fish and meat, turns out these are pretty easy to tame as a male. Now I need to go tame his girl-

Pro tip as soon you as you get large bear traps you can tame a rex so easy all you got to do is place 3 large bear traps in a row get the rex and try and put him in a the row of large bear traps then shoot him with tranq arrows

Its easy to tame a rex or any dinos that are not fast runners

heres some tip

1.tame a tapejara put a saddle then shoot the rex while you and the tapejara is flying

2.shoot it with tranq darts/arrow or toxicant arrow

3.if its torpor running land then catch it or just change seat in front or back but you must make that your tapejara is following you or else it will land.. but dont worry tapejaras wont lose stamina if you change seats it will just regain some stamin

4.if its knockedout put some walls so nothing attacks it or just kill some predators that are near in the rex or it might disturb you from taming it

5.if tamed put the saddle then have fun :)

6.if you accidentaly hit it you will lose some taming effectiveness and a bonus level

Super easy to knock out, find a tall rock, stand up there and fire tranq arrows like no tomorrow. You don’t even need a longneck rifle, I did it with a crossbow. After it’s knocked out, just keep it asleep with narcotics and feed meat

my tip to tame it is to just make a trap that has stairs or ramps on one side and have door frames on one side. The trap needs to be big enough that the rex can fit in it, have 2 high walls. On one side have door frames small enough for you to fit through and too small where the rex cant fit. Then it should get stuck. Than knock it out with tranq darts or tranq arrows or however you like to know it out.
