I was near where swamp starts by red obelisk. I was walking by some rocks, only worrying about sarcos, titanaboas, and the occasional kapro. Thats was until I heard the ground shake, which prompted me to look behind me. And I saw a massive rex staring at me menacingly. I didnβt even know they spawned there! That was not a fun day. I never did get my stuff back.

If u just started ark and tamed some dodos and see a rex rushing at u just grab ur dodo and yeet it at the rex and run
