Tips & Strategies

What are tips for rex? Tips and strategies for rex in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Easy:
make sure you have a getaway, a couple stacks of meat, and a ton of tranq arrows(or darts)
stand on a real tall rock
shoot it to make it come to you (with rifle or crossbow)
once it’s stuck at the bottom of cliff (or rock) shoot it with TRANQ ARROWS(or darts)
repeat until it goes unconscious
get off and place your meat in inv
wait half an hour and you got the most popular apex predator in the dino kingdom
Baby rex’s are so cute. if your breed them have a lot of campfires and wood or thatch. my Rex wants walk every time for the imprinting thing. Already so big soon she’ll be as big as her mother and father.
Yo, I tamed a rex by hopping on a tall rock, shooting it up with tranq arrows and feeding it regular meat
KOing one and taming isn’t a problem it’s just most of the time where ever you knock out a Rex there will most likely be other predators around that can kill it while unconscious, I would clear out the area or lure it into a different spot if you can see other animals that might interfere with taming.
To tame a Rex build a stone trap by placing foundations in a square or rectangle at least 8 by 8 then making 4 walls out of stone door frames 4 high (or you can use standard Dino gate frames for 3 walls, then put the door frames for the 4th wall). Then make a wooden ramp down one side of the trap (the ramp will attach to the top of the door frames). Once you have your little trap with a ramp get the Rex to chase you. Run up the ramp and make sure it’s right behind you, then jump into the trap and run out one of the door frames. The Rex will fall in and not be able to leave. Tranq it out through the open stone door frames or Dino gates from a safe distance away. Catch any level Dino with this trap. Bigger Dino’s need bigger traps.
I have 2 rexs named stomp and chomp and used jerky and it tamed really fast
Okay so people are saying to use platform saddles which yes is not bad it’s just work to get a quetzal, if you have 2 people all you have to do is build 3 stone Dino gates in an unfinished square away from the Rex, then get the Rex to aggro on you and lead it in and go through the middle square (you can use large bear traps but I never use them) and then while the Rex is still aggro at you the second person needs to come behind and place the last gate.
Tame one they said it'll be easy they said tries to take
what I hate you guys
For some strange reason the pachyrhinosaurus puff has no effect on it when Koed
on mobile i shot one with about 10tranqs before running out, then i had to use a slingshot, which broke multiple times until i couldn't repair it, then i jumped down n used a club which broke n i couldn't repair it either so i finally punched it unconcious before stuffing some prime meat into it right before my ipad (and i) died when i had battery again, i died again (luckily i had a bed next to there) then i ran over and luckily it was tamed, then my battery died again.
I had a level 8 Rex and it took 18 arrows to take it down and it only needed 2 narcotics it takes a while to take but the trex is worth the struggle.
You can pretty easily kill any lvl of t-rex just by stegosaurus, when riding it because stego got knockback that high that he is not gonna give rex any chance to hit.
If you see it when you spawn leg it
The boxing method mentioned by others is very useful! I trapped a level 92 Rex in the box and it took under 20 tranq darts with the basic longneck rifle to knock it out (most were body shots before I started aiming for the head, I’m not sure if headshots increase torpor quicker). I killed some baby dinos beforehand and had my hyeanadon hold the prime meat in the craftable meat punch saddle. The tame bar goes up by over 20 percent for prime meat each time it eats, and 9 percent if it eats raw meat. The guide says the Rex’s TORPOR reduces quickly, but it DOES NOT. I did not need to put any narcotics into the Rex throughout the entire taming process. Have fun, you got this!
So I had decided to move my main base from a really nice area to living in a snowy mountain, and just tamed my first ever Rex (WOOOOOO) and since I’m lazy and the only two ways down aren’t too big well one is a death mission for a pack of wolves, I literally just get to my artifact of the immune farm (I don’t feel like running caves) and I get an artifact of immune and get to my base which is at the blue obelisk and I go to the obelisk and save make a save if I don’t get the potent powder I just restore my save and I keep going until either A I get an eerie pistol (WHY SO RARE) or B I get potent powder which is much more likely and once I get the powder I put it into the inventory of my Rex and I start increasing his levels and put it into health until it reaches 10k-20k and then put the rest into strength so that when it’s maxed out it’s the most feared thing in the whole multi verse.
They spawn in the redwoods mountain biome, and the snowy mountain biome, and carnivore island. Basically they really like mountains.
I got one yesterday they are amazing they are slow but really strong high damage good health and are a really good option for boss fights hardest part of taming them is finding them since they are rare and spawn on mountains the redwoods and the snow biome on the island map pls like this or a Rex will spawn at your base
