If you’re in the snow biome, have a decent and fast argy, and a safe place to k.o., this is a pretty simple tame. Get on a ledge, knock it out, and then just kill anything that gives prime. Argies, purlovias and mammoths are just a few of the animals that drop prime. Keep loading it with prime and eventually you’ll tame the dinosaur.

If your on mobile and you complete the dilo hunt persuit, equip your new enhanced bow, find a rex( I normally find a low lvl one), and shoot it to hell, and then you have you new rexbone helmet skin :D NOTE: I actually got ascendant bow)

Get to high ground and shoot or escape

for incubation boost using incubator put temp 33 F°

So basically my tribe were scared of rex and then we made a trap it was 2 stone doorframes high and then we put it in. It was kinda lame when it took like 30 tranq darts, kinda a waste of time if you ask me because it only had like 120% melee and it had 20K FLIPPING OXYGEN

Spawned on my level 300 mutated yutys while I was combining the colors and made the babies go crazy

I just went to carno island with a high level argy and started wiping out the raptors, sabers, carnos, and scorpions. Within 10 minutes 2 rexes spawned, one being a tek rex. After clearing out for another 3 ish minutes, 2 more rexes spawned, one being a level 145. Seems like an effective way to find high level rexes Becuase I can’t find them at their other spawn locations around the island.

To tame this guy, there are many ways to knock it out, use a cliff, trap, or on foot if your cool like that. I reccomend a crossbow to knock it out. Once it’s down just stuff it with meat (prime meat is more effective then regular meat and is reletivly simpler to get than kibble). Also make sure to have narcotics or narcoberrys just in case. Once tamed it doesn’t do much, but is extremely good for bosses.

Just go on top of a cliff or some where it can not get to you then shoot it when it runs jump off of cliff ( or some where high ) with parachute and chase it down while shooting it ( this is what I do for all most every thing

Make sure to starve it down when you knock it out don't just put your food in there wait till it's hungry but after you give it food don't take it out I will lose taming

who agrees this is the iconic tame of the game? like its quite the accomplishment when you do it during mid game but nit really end game.

When encountering a rex make sure u have a large-ish tame because small tames like raptors or wolves will get stunned and u will be unable to ride them for a couple seconds.

In creative I tested my defenses against 5 alpha rex’s, you would think they destroyed and killed everything, but once they crossed the line of Fire they lasted each 5 secs, each pumped up with element.🤣

I had a Rex egg I had just bred it put it in the fridge came back the next day it was gone / 11 hours later ooohhh I left it in the wrong fridge

Really overrated you can easily knock one out with a crossbow In about 2mins

What arrows or darts should I use and why

I like to get 4 behemoth gateways and but down 3 in a triangle shape with a large bear trap In the middle, when the Rex runs Into the trap I place the forth gate closing off the trap, I then use a gun with tranq darts (50-100) and knock it out, I found prime meat to be the easiest taming food to give it.
