If you have a tribe-Have a friend carry you on an argentavis, and shoot it till it goes down.

If you're alone- you can: make a trap out of wood or stone with a bethemoth gate with a box inside so you can shoot it safely.

Or you could: make a ballista and a chain bola to subdue it then shoot it down.

Or wildly shoot it and run and hope for the best :)

If you are just beginning your journey and don't have many Dino's, I suggest aggro it and run to to a Cliff where you can begin tranqing it. After it has been knocked out take spike walls and place them around it (make sure you leave a gap for you to get to it 😛)

Make a trapper boat from metal. 2 walls high all the way around then a ramp for the rex to walk up. Lure it in with a bird or by foot. Then it's safe for transport and taming. Can tame over water and have no worries. Take 2 walls down and walk out when done.

You can kite said Rex into a rock or stand above it and shoot it if it starts to run after a couple shots it is not going down but simply finding something else to attack or repositioning itself if it is the first then chase it or shot it again but don't let it hit you hope this helps oh spike walls around it too

There are multiple places to find them in the center map but in the original map and scorched earth.in sorched earth you head to the center of the map or to where the giant spikes are you can knock them out any way that you can but I suggest to bring as many tranq darts as you can or tranq arrows .and they spawn just about anywhere near the red or blue obelisk in the normal major in the center around red wood

Rex's tend to get stuck on rocks easily, so what you should do is find a valley like spot. (( all on one side and then another on the opposite side) then what you want to do is use a bird to find a way up to the top of the cliff line, start pounding tranqs. Onice it drops, your then have a wall (unbreakable) and then put spikes around the Rex for extra protection.

The best way in my opinion is someone carry you on an Argentavis and you shoot it in the head with tranquil arrows or darts. This method works on most dinosaurs and is the safest. Have fun using this tip and I suggest getting dodo dexter pro it makes it better without ads.

Make a 4 by 5 box base (specifically stone material to insure no breakout) make three sides of the box with door frame walls about 4 high (use stone material)to make shooting the tame easy and efficient to shoot through. On the 4th wall side add 3 rows of ramps to lead the tame into the trap box(metal or wood ramps Will do). In addition u can add a Dino gate to get the tame out of the box once tamed or just demolish the walls- I hope this was somewhat useful to taming ur creature :) Have fun

Once knocked out, you can honestly get away without taming spikes if it's just a good Rex. Nothing naturally attacks them in the wild if it's not fully tamed. You don't need to waste material and sit next to the rex if you're kibble taming it for 3 hours. Just knock it, fly back 10 mins before torpor time and make yourself productive. Unless you're on a busy server with a lot of traffic

Use a taming raft and go to half burnt (the island next to Lava Island) and lead it into the raft and then u can just stand on the ramp and shoot it with darts or a bow and he will get downed. If you get lucky you can man the raft and be able to take it somewhere safer.

A nice 2x2 dino gate, or 1x1 behemoth gate pin is the best bet for taming safely. Especially if you're attempting to tame in a dangerous area. Also, bring good fliers and a spare crossbow.

Alot of tranq darts with a longneck rifle, Some behemoth gateways and gates, Prime meat or eXtRoIdOnArY kibble, some knowlege on taming traps, and a bait unless you use yourself, AND OF COURSE the rex tek saddle or rex saddle.

And there you have it folks! A tamed rex for you to control.

Really simple strategy if playing on extinction

1: Tame Tapejara and get a friend

2: Find Rex you want to tame

3: Hover over Rex with Tapejara and make sure you have your friend on tapejara

4: Have friend shoot Rex with tranqs while you fly on tapejara

The spino does more damage but this is better spino is pure f##KING s##t at combat meanwhile the Rex does good damage and good health their normal health when wild is higher than the bronto it's like the sword and shield of ark being incredibly reliable for late game and supremely powerful for midgame so this is a tank build for ark players despite being weaker than the giga this thing is still the first thing we turn to in boss fights what also make it good is that there are things more power full than it but still considered the best

easiest & cheapest way to tame these guys is to have a pretty tanky mount which you can shoot off the back from. i usually play on max level 300, though, so most creatures are pretty tanky. i use a bary/deinon, since they are fast and you can escape whenever you need to. very easy tame if you know what you’re doing

What I found easy was

Find a high level diplo

Knock it out

Put all stats into health

Find preferred rex

Use diplo as tank

Make sure area is clear before dismounting the diplo

fire away at rex

Admittedly I was using a mastercraft bow

I live near the beach (yes I'm a beach bob) and I was mining some metal for a saddle and a rex just materialized and killed my anky *like to pay respect to tankylosaurus*

Rex taming tips, noob-pro.

Noob- Bring the rex to a cliff side using something faster than it such as a raptor or a flier, use a bow or crossbow with tranq arrows hitting headshots, fill with 100 raw meat and feed 50 narco berries every time toper hits 1/4.

Intermediate- Build a 2x2 stone trap with double doorways 2 high surrounding, add ramps to 2 of the 4 sides then your trap is done. Next use a raptor or argent with decent health to bring the rex into the trap, use tranq arrows with a crossbow or tranq darts and a long neck to toper the rex out, finally put 15 exceptional kibble, or 100 raw meat with 50 narcotic to tame.

Pro- Build a metal 2x2 out of foundations, surrounded them with two tall double doorways, have the rex follow your mount of choice into the trap, then tranq it using a long neck and darts, finally feed 6-20 exceptional kibble to it depending on level and it's yours!
