Reapers are acquired by weakening a Queen until she can impregnate you, then surviving gestation while gaining experience before using pheromone protection to safely claim and raise the offspring. They are durable, highly mobile combat mounts with powerful attacks, natural damage resistance, a slowing tail projectile, and knockback abilities useful for hunting, defense, gathering meat, and controlling dangerous creatures. Charge light weakens and exposes them, so encounter one from a sturdy mount, lure it into a secure trap, attack from a safe distance, and keep healing supplies and an escape route ready. Light exposure weakens Reapers, while low stamina can make prolonged travel—especially through water—hazardous.
