Utility Tips

What is a reaper used for? reaper battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Lure a Reaper Queen into a metal trap WITH A COVERED FLOOR SO IT CANNOT ESCAPE AFTERWARDS, that way multiple people can get pregnant from 1 good Queen. These other beach noob comments forget that detail. Using glowpets to weaken her, damage her until she reaches 2k hp, preferably with a Megalo or Reaper, but Drakes work too. Turn the lights off and she'll glow pink, showing she's ready. Now dismount and stay just out of reach until she leans forward, at which point she'll try to pick you up and BAM you're pregnant. There's a Drake trick that works without dismounting, look it up. Use the next 12 hours to trap more Queens, finishing them off with a shotgun to get the most exp for the baby. Once time is up, encumber yourself with meat in a small room and let the baby kill you when it hatches. It'll take all the meat regardless of weight and you won't have to handfeed it at all, pheromones are worthless lmao. Use a crab to pick the baby up and it'll stay there until it hits juvenile.
This thing is the best PVE creature hands down, people like to think because it doesn't have a saddle, it must not be that good, however they fail to realize just how strong a reaper's natural armor is. By itself the reaper king resists 70% percent of all damage. This increases to about 83% with the full imprint buff. That is better than most asc. saddles. Also like the giga, a reaper gains more health from imprinting than most creatures. Example, a 150 reaper embrio plus the 75 levels typically comes out with around 10k to 14k health but easily eclipses 20k with full imprint alone. Their base damage is 75, which is higher than the rex's 55 making them no pushover with dps either. The spin attack, while doing less damage than the bite, ignores armor. And that's not even mentioning a reapers insane mobility. They can jump insanely high, take little to no fall damage from any height,
and sprint fast with minimal stamina drain.
The Reaper king, a Jack of all Trades, Master of All.
It is the second strongest Reaper ingame. Only thing being better is the Alpha Surface Reaper. Getting impregnated by a queen lvl 150 and getting all 75 lvls possible for it gives you anreaper baby born with 15-20k HP which after imprint almost 30k. Dmg gets over 300% and after imprint close to 400%. Lvled can be 40k HP and over 600% if not 700% easily. Its a beast, can charge jump like a crab, take it down there to the drake nests and you can farm eggs for days. But be aware that light makes him weaker aka he takes more dmg and deals less.
Fun facts about reapers!
-Reapers have a very high healthpool and damage, and also have an 80% natural armor. You do not need a saddle to ride them.
-To tame one, you must get pregnant from a reaper queen. It must be below 2000 health before it will grab and impregnate you.
-After you are impregnated, you can kill creature to increase the offspring's level. It caps out at an additional 75 level-ups, no matter the queen's level.
-Once the baby reaper bursts out of your chest, it will try to kill you. However, this can be avoided by eating a pheromone gland, which is obtained from dead reaper queens.
-These reapers aren't meant to be confused with surface reapers. Surface reapers do much more damage and have slightly less hp.
That's all! I hope this was helpful.
Here's how reapers work: Whenever they're at low health, they pick you up and shove their tail into you, injecting a symbiote into you. It lives in ur intestines until the time comes when it burrows out of your chest and runs away. Let's face it, it's the most unique way to tame a creature.
You ever want to crush gigas and rule servers ? Take a couple of these bad boys, they only take 10% damage without a light pet and have witnessed them destroying a tribes gigas single handedley. Hands down the ultimate killing machine not to mention the tail attack grounds wyverns
