Quit calling them velociraptors they are utahraptors trust me I saw it on the wiki and it said this: the utahraptor or simply raptor is one of the creatures in ark survival evolved.

You can see them first and they won't attack until they see you. Use a bola if you want to immobilize it. If not, get a lot of dilos ealry on (I still have a huge pack on every island separated by water that have about 5-10 lol). I hoped this helped if you wanted to hunt some raptors.

It's easy if you want to kill it just use a bola and a spear. If you want to tame it however, do a max of two at a time (in the south I find packs of two near the cave of the south) Use a bola at it's max range. Let them come (if you don't want to die upgrade hp to about 200-300) and bola one. Do this to the other. Now use any meat (I always use normal meat , but any works). I've used this and have a pack of 10.

If you are a newbie stay way far from them as they jump on you and kill you and are in pavk of 2 or more. 😖😖

To the guy that hatchet works so does other melee weapons i was fighting one and it pinned me and then I just use my ASC sword and it insta killed it

I really love them. Absolutely one of my favorites. They are REALLY useful to travel around because they’re very fast, which means, if you level their stamina and speed enough, you can and will get away from anything.

Level up their strength and health and they can be used as a bodyguard to help while you tame.

They are also good gatherers of raw meat, raw prime meat and leather.

If you’re still a low level player (less than 10), I do not recommend searching for a Raptor alone (in case you’re playing with others).

If you’re single player (like me), you have to wait at least a couple more levels to get them.

Immobilize a raptor with a Bola, tranquilize it (low level Raptors can die, so be careful) and wait a while to feed it.

Don’t forget to have some narcotics on, in case torpor starts dropping too much.

Really good for early game pve/pvp and can be used as a base defense for late game because of their pounce ability. I think the best thing you can do is swap them for deinonychus late game because they’re just better in most ways as a pack Dino. If your on gen than shadowmanes are the best dinos in the game all around.

Use following things

Tranq Arrow,slingshot,club

Use meat,prime meat or kibble

Wait

Raptor tamed

Tek raptors are more powerful and have a higher level cap

How to get a raptor easy

Step one craft 2 or 3 bola(you technically only need one but the extra is Incase you miss or there are more near).

Step two get your traq method of choice and knock them out just a warning if your too close to the raptor they can still melee you so I suggest using bow + traq arrows slingshot will work too tho

Step three give the raptor 20 meat or so

Step four (optional) if you are playing console (Xbox, playstation pc) then you can open your inventory and there's a tab where you can track all taming going on in your tribe it has a claw mark with a plus to get there press pause(Xbox and playstation) five times or click the icon(pc) and then press the creature you want to track in this case it's the raptor and this menu will show you the hp how close it's too waking up and food

Step five enjoy your new raptor

Bruh just get on a rock and shoot them with a ranged weapon

The best way to kill alpha raptors for low levels just put spike walls around it and make sure your at a safe distance (I would recommend a flyer to put the spike walls) grab some popcorn and watch the drama unfold

i have a way to tame them first you need a bola to stun them then you need a tranq arrow you dont need a cross bow if you have one then use it but you need like a bow so you can tame yourself a raptor

To tame bring a sacrifice dino and shoot the raptor then while he is attacking the dino, bola it then, club it
