It says quick and easy taming, more like time-consuming and complicated taming if you are a low leveled. You need like a tranq with a crossbow for that! How is that easy? Leveling up in hard mode is not easy so taming these things are a nightmare! You have to lure it to a wooden pen they are faster than you, you have to keep throwing bolas at it while also calming yourself down. If you miss one bola you’re dead unless you have chitin armor. Once you and the raptor is in the pen bola it once more, quickly get out of there and build a wall sealing its escape. 🤯 I died like three times unsuccessfully trying to tame one max level one 😡

A pack of 5 to 7 on a good level destroyed a trio of Allos.

You can fit them in doors, but it has to be two doors high for raptors to fit.

Can be picked up by an argie, but can still attack you and your bird, bring health potions 🧪 and Alphas can break wood walls with a few good hits. Really important can now dismount you when on any Aerial creature. Even Griffins.

Its stupid easy to tame as long as YOU see it first. First charge your bola and get close enough that it chases you When it's close enough throw the bola Now the hard parts you now have three options to knock it out

1 A tranq arrow to the face, if that isn't enough then one to the body If it is a high level then rain it with arrows to the head as long as it isn't about to die. If it is about to die wait for the torpor to rise or try trapping it by building around it if taming a high level this is the only option aside from pachy/pulmnoscorpion

2 Slingshot it's body, this is the hardest option since you have to be fast, this needs to be knocked out before the bola effect is worn out and the slingshot is slow at dps... But this is the most inexpensive ranged way to tame one.

3 Beat it with a bat. Use a wooden club, fists will take forever and the bola will wear off. This part is important in this strategy which is to *GO BEHIND THE RAPTOR* IF YOU FACE IT IT CAN ATTACK AND POUNCE ON YOU

When encountering an unwanted raptor, run past or behind a latge herbivore (best examples would be triceratops and carbonemys, both of which are very common). Run away if you are looking for safety, or you can make sure the raptor is dead. Very easy way to farm weapons from raptors.

Guys if you want to tame a raptor get bola and tranq arrows and a cross bow because when they jump on you they deal a lot of damage

1. Grab bolas, a bow and tranq darts

2. Locate raptor

3. Bola raptor

4. Pill out shotgun or assault rifle if needed

5. Kill raptor

6. Hunt down every raptor on the island. Leave no raptor alive. Every. Last. One.

7. Oh. wrong category

Alright if your new or don’t have enough stuff to fight these guys here a tip to escape them

#1 run and jump I found that most of the time that they can’t get you if going down a hill or over objects

#2 go underwater as deep as you can they won’t be able to get you

#3 for all land Dino’s go under water for aquatic Dino’s go on land and for flyers go underwater (Barry can go on land and in water same for sarcos )

Taming a 135 lvl Raptor rn and according to Dododex, i only needed 3 Parasaur kibble when I actually needed 5…lets just say im a little sad about losing some levels on her but i know to bring a little extra next time (and hopefully this tells you to bring a little extra for your next tames too!!)

Here is a good mobile tip.

When exploring early in the game, always carry 4 to 5 bolas with you. DO NOT HEAD INTO HEAVILY WOODED AREAS OR AREAS WITH LOTS OF VEGETATION. That will prevent any ambushes. If you want to hunt raptors, stay in an open space. You will be able to see and bola the raptor. I recommend using a ranged weapon like the bow you got from hunting dilos. A spear is okay but the bow will kill it faster than throwing the spear. To help minimize the chance of being pounced, move around and not forward. If you see a group of 3, retreat immediately because from experience, I never had survived a small group of raptors without being almost or completely dead.

I was out riding my raptor queen when two other raptors jumped me I had to get off of quenn and shw died and they were going after me so I used my bolas to bolas them and kill them up for rip queen

Directions: Find a raptor by foot or a mount. (Pterosaurs such as Pteranodon are most effective at finding them.) Travel southeast or northwest. Once you have located your raptor, if it is feeding or attacking something, wait until it’s done. When it’s done, wind up your bola and approach it slowly. If you are using the Large Bear Trap, place it. When the raptor chases you, throw the bola. If you have a bear trap set, lure the raptor by crossbow or walk up to it. When the raptor is immobilized, shoot it 2 or 3 times with Tranq Arrows. If it is high level, shoot it with four Tranq Arrows. When unconscious, feed it with something. Your choice. Once you are done taming, create a Raptor Saddle. When mounted, this destroyer will kill anything weaker than it. It can also perform a pounce attack to anything smaller or equal size to it. Last step: Change settings by clicking the fossil if needed, then name it.

Tips: When mounted, this is one of the only dinosaurs which can jump. Starve feeding or regularly feeding, either way is the same. Be careful if they are in a pack; packs can easily kill you! I would suppose that you upgrade it’s health, damage, speed, and sometimes weight.

How to befriend a raptor

1. Watch it get pretty low on health

2. When low around 100 hp punch it or sling shot it

3. When unconscious feed Raw meat, Prime meat, etc.

4. No Narcotics needed

5. When tamed destroy everything

6. KILL EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING DO NOT SHOW MERCY IT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU WEAK KILL KILL EVERYONE

Everyone if you go to settings and change the multi tap thing for raptor you can do the pounce attaack this also works for pteranodons only they do a barrel roll attack
