If placed as defense make sure that they are always on aggressive since tribe mates tend to whistle passive on all tames . If an enemy finds this as an obstacle since he can't see it and if it's in passive they can rocket it out of the ground and steal your hidden loot .

The are all over the winter part of the island and can be found on the redwood

So this thing is just a poor man's Thylacoleo, yeah? Does everything that the Thylacoleo does, but worse.

Guys who made ark. For real y’all need to make this beast rideable. For real saying it can’t support human weight isn’t a really big excuse for it not having a saddle I tamed one today and can tell you it’s big enough to support a human like no joke these would be perfect as rides if you can ride with it and dig under the ground enemy dinos can’t get you and if they’re right above you you can do a sneak attack

So you can ride a wolf but not a giant badger that’s pretty much the same size?

If you want to hide some loot or items tame one of these, put all items you want hidden and move them to its inventory, put it underneath the ground, and there you go very helpful for pvp if your base is getting raided.

Just surprise them by a grenade XD

Make sure you stay near them!! I nearly lost a lvl 150 to a terror bird because I was getting extra meat

Get a shoulder mount, throw them ontop of the lump in the ground and watch the purlovia leap for them now knock it out

Wildcard can you make it so that you can ride this but not make it able to bury itself while being riden

Why can they not be ridden. They are bigger that a dire wolf and they cannot be ridden

These guys can also be useful as a hidden chest in PvP just set them on passive and make them burrow underground. Well most people use it as a land mine though

These things are nasty. I was just wandering the Red Woods with my Argy looking for pelt and all of a sudden I get knocked off my Argy thirty feet in the air! And then of course, terror birds kill me so then I request my Argy only to find out she has only 200 health left. Moral of the story, when roaming the Red Woods, keep and eye on your surroundings and always try to stay at least fifty feet in the air because these things can jump high.

On mobile, they have great knockback and can knock back a lot of creatures.

In case you didnt know they can spawn in aberration's red zone and scorched earth out of all places

The good:

Not too hard to knock out and tame

Pretty useful as a living land mine

Has good harvesting capacity and weight

Has extremely high knock back for a creature of its size

The bad:

Not much use in singleplayer

Good damage per hit but really low attack speed resulting in extremely low dps.

No saddle and not being able to ride it means lower survivability and attack.

Low swim speed, altho that is shared by a lot of creatures

If you run into 1 in the red woods lead it to a gallimimus and if your lucky he will chase the gallimimus

These are not really dangerous if they are unburied, but if they are buried, they will either stun you or your mount. It may not be a problem if it’s only the Purlovia in the area, but most likely it’s not only.

I was in the snow biome with my Royal Griffin, killing an alpha T-rex, when all of a sudden this thing jumped out and stunned my griffin. Nothing good came out of this, the griffin was killed by the alpha T-rex and a couple spinos and shortly after, I died too. Thankfully I had nothing valuable in my inventory, but my griffin died and there’s not much I can do.

Never fly low in the snow or redwoods unless well prepared for dismounting and stunning.
