Why does it take so long to tame??? 😭😭😭
More Pteranodon Everything Else Tips
Ok, now I’m level 63 and my Pts still hatch within 11 minutes! Maturation is a little longer though…about an hour. But hatching time has stayed the same! I have about 29 Pts. I would NEVER have that many if the eggs took 1 hour to hatch. Up this if your experiencing the same.
Here’s a few tips to keep from dying. Level stamina to 300 (at least). Then only stop for stamina on sea rocks, large boulders, or beaches. Make sure to keep an eye on the stamina at all times. Fly high and away from predators. For low level or weak PTs, change their stance to: Passive Flee. That way if something attacks them they immediately fly away. Cause we all care about the Dino’s more than ourselves (we respawn). Hope these tips helped!
Admit it, this is the 1st flyer you first tamed
Petition to force ark to make pt saddle lower level like 23-27
WHO'S WITH MEH?!
ON MOBILE THEY SOUND LIKE COELACANTHS
They spawn at herbivore island—even though they aren’t herbivores :(
I wish I had this as my last flight
Dongo to swamps with them
I lost 5 peteras because of it
For future noobs. Do NOT listen to these muppets:
First get yourself a bola, then smack it a few times with wooden club
Next feed it RAW MEAT
I assume you are like level 10-15 right now which means you have not yet unlocked tranq arrows therefore if u wanna tame this creature just use a wooden club and bola for christ sake, honestly not worth waiting till lvl 21 just to get tranq arrows when a club and bola are so much easier and quicker to craft. Also yes they are the first creature you are taming that u can fly, however don’t get excited as the saddle is fairly difficult to make for news and cannot be obtained until about lvl 40 i think 38 can’t remember. And they are good for travelling and having fun with, make a pretty good meat and hide gatherer tbf🤣 but don’t expect to use them for carrying potential tames as they can only carry Dilophosaurs and smaller creatures. Also flying them is only possible with these requirements:
Make sure you have an appropriate weight
Get the pteranodon about 50 weight and stamina upgrades (maybe movement speed too)
So in conclusion they are a pretty shite tame, when on following they get in ur way 24/7 unless u stack their inventory with meat (or have a trough in range) and have an enclosured area (inside building or dino leash) DO NOT LET THEM WANDER. Also back to the taming food, use RAW MEAT, raw prime meat this early on into the game is almost impossible unless ur already experienced with the game, raw meat works almost the exact same and is so much easier and quicker to get than prime meat.
After a while of getting used to these types of creatures i recommend getting an Argentavis, griffin, dimorphodon, tapajara or even a quetzal next. But i highly doubt you’ll be ready for anything above an Argentavis at this point. I would recommend an army of them but 1 is fine.
