I had the problem fish swarm would drop aggro on me, stop following. I discovered that if get on your mount, sprint away (not too far away, not out of render, just a nice sprint with a fast swimming mount - like 20 foundations), go back to them, and dismount in the middle of the swarm, you regain aggro!
