Simply use a bola so it can't run because they run pretty fast. Use either a sling shot or tranq to knock it out. Once tamed put gathered stimberries and mejo or tintoberries on it and force feed the stimberries and it will poop for days. Usually 100 stims equal 20-25 poops. Best to have a dung beetle to make fertilizer as well :)

I have been trying for two days now to tame a phiomia. Every time I capture it, I cannot find a way to knock it out safely. I just tried it on a level 20 and STILL killed it with the slingshot AND club! This is insanity!

They run out of stainless so fast when you're running it's annoying but they are great swimmers

A great early source of meat and hide. Soon as you learn to make bola, use your first on this guy n harvest it with an axe to get enough hide to make lots of bola. Then raptors and dilos will stop being a problem, and you'll be able to hunt parasaur and this guy for easy meat.
