Ok so I’ve seen people say the iguanadon is the upgraded version of this but in all reality a parasaur has a very good ability on console (not mobile) to sense enemies. I promise when I say I went into the redwoods with the underground jack in the boxes, and terror birds and not a single scratch to me. All I did was upgrade its speed to CRAZY HIGH stats. I even killed a lvl 18 carno on my lvl 16 parasaur! I really consider these very useful when going into a uncharted area and you don’t have a high level Dino for travel.

The Parasaur is an easy tame, and a useful one at that. It can be as fast or even faster than a raptor with the proper levels while carrying twice as much load as one, it can also scare away raptors and other little critters that get too comfortable. You can do this by Clicking the Right mouse button on Computer, and the Right stick for both Xbox and PS4. You can get a Parasaur saddle at Level. 9 and it’s a beginner tame. The bad thing is that it has bad melee damage but you can level that up no problem. Parasaurs are also “okay” swimmers and they also have pretty good oxygen and stamina.

Find a para, club it with a club (duh) feed it berries, then..

Functions as a security system, but annoyingly registers every baby as a hostile creature as soon as it is born

Enable turret mode then carry it with an argy to help you find carnivores. Helped me with finding thyla

It can scare Dinos.it has a roar

Its a fast swimmer and is a perfect early mount for harvesting oil early in the game for grenades

I tamed this in a forest! It took quite long though.

So these are easy to tame, the purple berry's. So good first Dino but mine was easily killed (level 12). So get a higher level. STAY AWAY FROM RAPTORS WITH THESE- also they are good with carrying items in their inventory! I hope this helped <3

Great starter. You can use this to increase your narcoberry gathering rate. This can quickly lead to bigger and better dinos. This is much more effective than trying to go three gardening route when first starting.

1 or 2 of these and a decent turtle can kill lower level alpha rapport if done right!

Surprisingly underrated. If you work together with a player on a raptor, you can kill things neither of you could alone.

From The Stat Calculations I Have Got, It Seems They Got Stams Buffed. I Have Base Stats Too.

Very easy to find, easy to tame, get the saddle at level 9, so first ride collects just as good as trike if you up Meele Damage and moves much faster than trike. Good idea to tame if you are new/noob to Ark.

Great Dino for travel in scorched earth because u can travel distances faster than running and wasting water.

Use this Dino first to get narco berries, to get narcotic, to make narco arrows, to tame a trike which will do a better job than the parasaur at getting narco berries, you should tame the parasaur first because unlike the trike, it will run away so you don't have to risk dying, and then later you can get a stego which will get more berries than a trike, but they are kinda sluggish so upgrade their speed or get an argi to carry the berries back to your base.

Good early transport mount but rather useless once you get into raptors and faster things like that. Good source of easy meat though, makes great taming dummy!
