The Parasaurolophus ( did I spell that right? ) was the first rideable Dino I tamed. I named my first one Stockton, after my brother, because he was a bit annoying and had his faults, but was still useful. It’s pretty simple and on how to take these guys. Grab a bola, throw it at em, then knock it out with your club. Now, making the saddle was a hard part for me. Especially when I only had a spear, an axe, and a pickaxe. Those were the only real weapons I had, so it took forever to get 80 hide from dodos life steps, and the occasional dilo. So, good luck out there, and use the axe to harvest hide. 😁

A common dino to find every where; Does not attack unless tamed then can be forced to attack with the whistle or while riding him.

When taking use a bola If your not the right lvl for it th use a slingshot or a bow then use Berry’s for he or she then give it a name (noobs) If ur a pro just use ur sword

I see too many tek parasaurs on the island

these lil guys are very fast! trap them against a rock and hit them with your fists until they pass out and then gas light them into thinking you’re helping them, works every time <3

The easiest Dino to take in ARK, second only to the Dodo. The easiest way to KO would be to craft at least two Bola (just in case you somehow miss with the first), then proceed to give it a face full of wood, or an arrow to the head. Once tamed, these guys make for a decent first mount early game if you are wanting to get from point A to point B in in a fairly good time, while also carrying enough supplies to build a small camp base. Like other herbivores, you can also use them to gather berries fairly quickly. When in your base, they can be used as an early warning system to alert tribe members if somebody is trying to sneak into your camp. When ridden, they possess two abilities, a sonar like "ping" to reveal hidden enemies and wild dinos that may pose danger, and loud "honk" to scare away any would be predators. Word of warning, though. Thier primary weakness is the fact that they possess little to no attack strength, so don't think you can take anything larger than a Dilo on one. They make up for the lack of melee damage with fairly decent speed, although some Raptors can quickly catch up to a fleeing Parasaur. Another slight disadvantage Parasaurs have is that they cannot jump, so try not to ride in rough terrain. Their swim speed also leaves something to be desired. Overall, these guys work best as a forward scout mount for when you want to explore or search for a new outpost location if you don't have access to a flyer, while also being strong enough to carry the needed materials. Keep in mind to stay out of tight forests or rough terrain, and keep water crossings to a minimum. Always keep your head on a swivel with the sonar ability. When leveling, train in HP, Stamina, Carry Weight, and Movement Speed (but only enough to keep from becoming the next meal for a wild Raptor pack).

You only need two things to tame this guy:

A bola and some berries. You don’t even need a club just use a fist.

Tek parasaurs are a super important early game tame. Capture and tame at any level to get a breeding pair. You then have harvesters and transportation but more importantly a potentially endless supply of metal, oil and electronics. Keep breeding and hatching eggs early on and it will help you get those early tech pieces before you perhaps establish a more high volume source for same.

For the people who tamed this and do not have a sadle get 2 dodos 1boy 1 girl and make baby’s and and kill the baby’s when they are all grownup

Here are the steps to get a pet para. 1 find one 2 bola it (you may need more than won) 3 club it’s face 4 feed it megoberry5 it may take a bit but u got a pet para! That’s how I got mine at lv 9

One of the best creatures for mounted combat. Easy to tame, great stamina, and with egg laying you can have an “insurance policy” (if it does end up dying) and start from where you left off stat wise. Just get a decent saddle and put all the lvls into health. I’ve killed everything short of a giga on the island with mine.

So, from personal experience I'm going to make a beginner walkthrough after years of playing.

So first, you want to make sure there are no hostile creatures around. Generally where you tame them there are none, but there sure are a lot of raptors at the Lost Island place for taming them. They WILL kill the parasaur AND YOU as soon as you knock it out. Either said taming them here altogether or bring a good ptera and kill them.

So once you have made sure there are no hostile creatures, this is what you'll wanna do. Craft a bola, maybe multiple if it's a high level. Bring a club and maybe even a few tranq arrows and a bow.

Bola the parasaur, and then hit it with the club, as fast as you can before the bola comes off. Eventually this will knock it out, and you can feed it berries. You might want to bring a few narcoberries. Mejoberries are recommended for levels.

Now, you've tamed a parasaur! Once it's tamed, you still have to make sure it doesn't die. You should probably bring another tame in order to keep it safe, or just pump all it's levels into speed and stamina.

If your a new ARK player…here’s how I tamed one

1. Hit it with you fist and chase it

2. After you made it unconscious feed it with any kinds or berries

3. Just grab more berries and feed to it it may take a while

4.there you go you got yourself a parasaur

Parasaurs can be set on turret mode and will look for enemy players or tames and alert you of them. This can be very useful if you have many of them around the entire map. A message wil then pop up saying:

“(Name of Dino) detected an enemy” and a red dot will appear at their location. You can name your Parasaur something like “Redwoods” or “beach” so you will now where the enemy is even at long distances.
