These little things give you insulation when picked up, great for ice caves. (and their adorable)

The otter will not gather pearls on aggressive you have to command it to attack 1 at a time. Also mine seems to be glitched after eating a fish it will follow a random tribe mate or try to run back to base idk if anybody else is having this problem but I'm getting tired of chasing it after every fish.

Otters can keep you warm I recommend upgrading attack damage and health attack damage will make you warmer

Tamed the otter it very useful it holds 2-3 artifacts at a time warms you and gets you black and silica pearls from fish hope this helps— supreme

These guys are essential for boss fights as they are the only creature in the game that can carry multiple artifacts at once.

If you live up north close to the snow biome it's recomended to keep one of these cuties on you at all times so that way you can resust the weather better! The higher the level the better :P

Otters are the ONLY creature in ARK that can carry multiple artefacts in its inventory at once. MAKE SURE you bring one it a cave to get multiple of them at once.

They can equip head items the world must be aware

The cutest creatures ever!! I have mine just sit on my shoulder, and when I get jumped by raptors, it kills them for me, so I don’t die. Also level melee, because it causes their insulation to go up as well. You stay cooler or warmer.

i would not recomend using them for perls rather do cave runs with them bcause they hold more than 1 artifact for bosses

If you have an otter follow you and either place it as aggressive(no other Dino’s nearby) or attack your target. You can punch fish and the otter will kill it and immediately make you Silica and black pearls!

Use the otter against Coel fish and it harvests black/silica pearls more frequent

These are awesome shoulder pets, as mentioned, they keep you warm and the weight of anything in its inventory is halved but they also make great bodyguards, I put a little into weight and health the rest into melee, not only will it increase it's insulation buff but if set to attack target, will bite anything that is aggressive and gets too close, Ollie has saved my ass a few times now.

Also, to tame one I would suggest using a flying mount to pick it up and drop it in a 1x1 with a 1 door for access and bring an Ichthyornis for collecting the fish, set the ichthy to agressive and follow, stand next to the door and wait for the fish to be delivered to feed the otter.

If you want to keep it alive as long as possible, equip it with a ghillie mask as it will get the camouflage buff as well, this will help it stay hidden if accidentally dropped.

HUGE TIP!!! Says omnivore but no berry I know will sate it's hunger

If u go hunting with you’re otter and they kill it sometimes they can give u black pears and white pears!

Idk y but no one has written about how to use them to get black and silica pearls.

So to get pearls u have to keep them on aggressive and on follow and let them attack fish like phirana etc but sometimes it doesnt work with normal fish called coelaths. And to get pearls u have to let them kill the fish by which i mean u have to let them last hit them and by then they will have pearl (1 or 2 of white and black or either one of em) in there inventory.

So I prefer goin for phirana and sabertooth cause they r agrressive and chase u till the shore so use that chabce to kill a lot of fish by otters. I hope i helped many which were having confusion like i did.

On mobile you can NOT carry an artifact with the Otter. It would be nice to see this change so that mobile has the same benefit as PC and Conceal when it comes to creature benefits.
