if you level their damage they will gain more black pearls from killing Fishes + They will get more body heat. If they have enought body heat you will easily be able to survive in the snow Biome fully naked while having an Otter on your shoulder. If you level their damage up even more they will also be able to BREAD all eggs up to WYVERN EGGS!

I have used them with no armor in the snow and in the valcano and do not over heat or freeze. Best shoulder mount imo.

I have found the otter keeps me warm in the northern edges of the map, it seems to give about 82% of the melee damage on it into insulation

Upping oxygen and melee may boost insulation, but with the level 55 (88 after tame) I got last night, it was only 12 hours before his food stat was dropping... already had one starve to death after 2 days of not playing.

Farm artifacts just boost weight and its can carry till its overcumbered say its weight 100 and the artifact weight 5 lbs 20 right there

Otters can attack and harvest while riding on your shoulder. The damage it deals isn’t much compared to other natives of the Island, but it’ll definitely help to kill the enemy before they kill you. Just watch out for the pikes or spears.

While tamed they can still attack,meaning if a raptor pounces on you the otter can actually kill the raptor,my otters have saved my lives from raptors multiple times

They can hold multiple artifacts based on their weight

They make great shoulder pets and can gather silica pearls quickly. Just a heads up though, when the otter is on your shoulder and you turn the camera to the side the otter looks like it’s been flattened!
