Tamed the otter it very useful it holds 2-3 artifacts at a time warms you and gets you black and silica pearls from fish hope this helps— supreme

ASA SP - To get them to spawn - kill every fish in the very most west of the river north of Redwoods.

Grab them with argy beak, land and bring it fish to tame while still in beak. ( Doesn't work with monkeys )

Be warned, it’s quite tricky to tame these on console, why does they “feed” button have to be the same button as the “drop fish”, just WHY!

IMPORTANT TIP!!!

Otters are the ONLY creature in ARK that can carry multiple artefacts in its inventory at once. MAKE SURE you bring one it a cave to get multiple of them at once.

They can equip head items the world must be aware

If you hit an otter for no good reason then you are soulless

If you ever see one of these and don't tame it you've made a big mistake I mean look at that face as well their animation when they give you the pearls is soooooooooooooooo cute

On mobile you can find them near the swam towards the easy place to start on the island closest to the swamp I found one but it died….to a compy whist I was taking it :(

Otters are usually found by waterfalls or small lakes in the south zone as a couple or one by itself and can be usually be tamed with fish. They can wear hats too so have fun!

I have otter named cookie he is cute

The cutest creatures ever!! I have mine just sit on my shoulder, and when I get jumped by raptors, it kills them for me, so I don’t die. Also level melee, because it causes their insulation to go up as well. You stay cooler or warmer.

Like a neck pillow, they always go missing but sit on your neck and can keep you warm, if a neck pillow had cental heating, it would practically be an otter from ark

Saw one at the river at south 1 near where the beavers spawn

i would not recomend using them for perls rather do cave runs with them bcause they hold more than 1 artifact for bosses

Very easy tame and super useful early game. They give you heaps of insulation at base and if you level up melee it works even better. Second best shoulder mount of all time (that I’ve tamed) first goes to compy, naturally

If you have an otter follow you and either place it as aggressive(no other Dino’s nearby) or attack your target. You can punch fish and the otter will kill it and immediately make you Silica and black pearls!

They eat raw fish meat. Be careful when taming it DO NOT PUNCH IT or you will fail the tame and it will be aggressive. They live near dangerous area. Be safe. Watch out for piranhas they always spawn in the river. Believe me IF YOU'RE TAMING THIS CREATURE BE CAREFUL FOR PIRANHAS YOU WILL ALWAYS ENCOUNTER IT IN THE RIVERS. (you can put hats on they're heads)
