Otters will atack off of your shoulder, so bring them into caves

You can fill it’s inventory with as much element as you want

If you punch an otter your fine but if you club it your a monster

THEY HOLD ARTIFACTS!!!! Level up weight and take them on cave runs.

It can hold 4 artifacts in its inventory

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, or had the same issues... but my otter tries to destroy my Dino eggs!!

TO ALL PEEPS THAT HATE FISH MEAT:

For me instead of giving all of my fish only waterers in ark fish, (otter, pelagornis, ichylornis, etc) u can give them basic kibble to eat instead. They will eat it, (not for taming tho) and it has a WAY lower spoil timer than fish meat. Plus, it doesn't take veggies. Up if u like this idea to feed ur piscivores :)

You can’t transfer them from other severs unless it’s the abration edition

Hard to find in the game by its self

On Valguero you are able to get otters in the chalk hills area! They are pretty easy to find ( This is from experience as I found 2 in the span on minutes) Listen for a low and quiet sound and give them fish ( Sabertooth Salmon are better and the otter tamed faster!) However on mobile feed it raw fish meat!

Idk if this true but alot of people saying MY OTTER DIED TO CARNO. Do otters spawn where Carnos spawn? I haven't tested yet but if you see a carno near a river/medium size water source. You might get lucky and find an otter also idk if this true lol
